Giant Pills Exercising In Train Station

2992 views

There's some human-sized pills working out at Union Station in DC. It seems the mad scientists at Consumers Union have trapped them and forced them to undergo fiendish exercise experiments in front of commuters and passersby to see which drugs work best. Their findings are documented in the new publication "Best Drugs for Less" which is being handed out for free in front of these not jagged, not little, pills. Video here.

What the.....

user-pic

I hope they can be taken orally, if not YOUCH!

user-pic

I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

user-pic

yikes... good thing i lost my gag reflex

user-pic

I hope they are Valtrex so I can make out with their genitals and be cured!

user-pic

I feel like I need to leave my cubicle and go to union station right now. RIGHT NOW!

user-pic

So, the Consumers Union is now a drug pusher.

Just what the world needs, more drug advertising!

Go to your doctor today and ask him about Nullox! Nullox provides a complex arrangement of chemicals to help you forget that you were ever really a human being at all! Try Nullox today!

There were some sad looking faux doctors trying to hand out these magazines during rush hour this morning at McPherson square. I don't take well to solicitations before 9am, befor coffee, and when I'm trying to get to the office.

I would prefer a little bit more self-disclosure in posts like these. Regular readers will know that this blog is owned by Consumers Union, which produced the publication which these giant pills are advertising, but new readers might not. In the interest of transparency, maybe add a line to the bottom of any Consumer Reports / Consumers Union related posts mentioning that you are owned by the same parent company?

What's great is that the Consumerist is shilling for their corporate masters, but none of us mind - we actually like their corporate masters. I continue to be happy about this pairing.

@theblackdog: I wish I could go. I have a meeting :-(

Will they be there later?

Also, I though the ad for the magazine (on the back of the past few days' Express) to be very compelling. I like the art. It's rare to find a visually compelling & clear ad - plus it's for a useful item!

@DeeKey: Well at least that is 3 fewer people unemployed. Or 3 fewer happy interns.

user-pic

Their website says they'll be at Union Station March 17 to 19 handing out free copies...so presumably the pills will be there too?

I go for the pills.

I wish I could go but alas...I need all the money I can get, and the pennies I make here need to go toward bills and making sure I don't dip too much into savings before I find a new job.

user-pic

anyone else notice that the eye chart says "we hide from out selves"

user-pic

"...in front of these not jagged, not little, pills."

Does it still feel so good (swimming in your stomach)?

user-pic

@: @: Ha! I'm literally at my desk right now trying to pro/con the traffic issues.

user-pic

^That was to pecan and theblackdog. My copy and paste job failed me.

user-pic

Are there any female giant pills? Them things are haaaaaawt.

...What...the...????

I think I might have nightmares tonight. Why, again, does C.U. need a huge display like this for their new publication?
