42619 views

Were you enjoing the free porno that Comcast provided during the Super Bowl? Would you like to finish watching it? Well, the maker of the film is offering a $10 coupon so that you can.

"We feel really bad for the customers that were just getting into it when Comcast rudely switched back to the football game before the clip could really get going," Kim Kysar, a spokeswoman for the company, said in a news release.

To get your free coupon, go to www.iPinkVisualPass.com and entering ‘pornbowl' into the promo code box.

PornTastic!

Brilliant marketing.

However, I've heard, that if you look very hard, somewhere on the internet, porn is now free.

user-pic

@edebaby: As much as the picture above seems a play on words with "porn" and "comcast" I think you're right - isn't it supposed to be porntastic?

user-pic

@Sandlapper: WHAAAAATTTTT???? I must look into this!

user-pic

That's some great marketing. Much cheaper than if they had paid for an ad during the Super Bowl.

user-pic

@Sandlapper: Well, everything on the internet _can_ be free if you go to the right places. I think legit speaking, most porno is not free.

user-pic

@Bladefist:

ahem. pornhub.com youporn.com redtube.com need I go on?

user-pic

@Bladefist: A fair number of the 'free' sites host promotional and/or sampling material. Most of the videos you can find just barely skimming the surface range from :15 to 20:00 minutes in length - it all depends on how desperate you are for the adult content.

user-pic

If I wanted to see a screen full of professional d*ck, I would have watched the Super Bowl.

user-pic

@HFC: And I'm sure they are bound to get some new cumstomers in the process.

user-pic

Someone on the AZ Star newspaper commented that it is useless since the porn came through on an ANALOG ONLY feed signl during the game, but to use the coupon you would have to upgrade your comcast service to the higher priced Digital Service. Same as here, you can't get the Pay per view/On-Demand items unless you have a digital box. So the coupon is useless to those that actually saw it during the game on ANALOG cable, unless comcast sales is working with the porno company! hehehe

user-pic

That's such genius marketing, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the employee who made the original 'mistake' was a plant from the porn company.

user-pic

@slingshotmike: lol I know. I was questioning the legality of them.

user-pic

@Sam Wille: i know, im not THAT conservative :)

user-pic

So, is Comc*ck, er Comcast, going to be repremanded by the FCC like CBS was for Janet's wardrobe malfunction? I haven't paid that much attention - has there been an uproar in AZ over this?

user-pic

@slingshotmike: Someone is very, very familiar with porn! so.. um.. what were those sites again?

user-pic

@trademarked67: Comcast is a private network and not subject to FCC regulations like CBS or other over the air networks are.

user-pic

@slingshotmike:

{writes down those addresses quietly}

Umm... nothing to say... have a nice day... or something...

user-pic

Raise you hand if you saw this coming.

Jeez, I feel ashamed now.

user-pic

I love how Comcast is being classified as "rude", genius.

Is it bad though that I see "How's my driving?" To be dirty now?

user-pic

I'm one of those Tucson viewers who got the Super Bowl porn. People here are still talking about it, and they offered a $10 credit to anyone who called and complained, which we happily accepted. I have a friend who lives here who works for Pink Visual, which I didn't realize until now was the company behind this.

user-pic

@slingshotmike: if you like to roll your own video then xtube.com though don't complain when you see your relatives or neighbors...

user-pic

@JohnDeere: I wish that's what she said. :(

user-pic

"You heard"???? Does "your friend" have a problem where it burns when they pee too?@Sandlapper:

user-pic

@metaled: Well, it would be totally useless if the porno provider restricted the coupon to analog subscribers. But they're not, so digital subscribers are in luck even though they weren't the ones left hanging.

user-pic

@econobiker: ...although if you do want to see your relatives or neighbors, there's always yuvutu.com...

...whaaaaaaat?

user-pic

@torgonius: Yeah, how do you expect us to ever swallow a comment like that?

user-pic

@Sandlapper:

hey, even porn stars need to eat!

user-pic

Have a fun time explaining your "discrete brown envelope" containing the coupon to your wife.

user-pic

@drjayphd: That's a hard one, I gagged just reading it.

Now I need a stiff drink.

user-pic

People pay for porn? Ha! Now THAT is amusing...

user-pic

@Justifan: That triggered a disturbing image.

user-pic

@metaled:

That's an interesting statement. Watch the video that has been circulating the net and you will see while she's trying to "dislodge the cannon" the "Recording Finished" banner from the Comcast DVR is on the screen.

Obviously one guy got to see it while he was on Digital.

I think it did only affect the standard def feed though.

user-pic

@JohnDeere: The average amount of time someone watches a PPV porn in a hotel is about 7 min. That is my favorite statistic ever.

user-pic

@metaled: Well, Comcast *is* in the process of switching to digital-only, so if they wait a bit...

user-pic

@torgonius:

Sorry, both hands are busy right. I'm watching the video again with my coupon.

user-pic

@metaled: The way I understood it, the "problem" occured on STANDARD DEFINITION channels provided by Comcast, not the "HD" or "High Definition" channels. Had nothing to do with "Analog" or "Digital".

Which would make sense, since Comcast doesn't broadcast over analog anyway, they're a *cable* company.

user-pic

This appears to be a scam for free advertising? The membership is 19.95 and the $10 off brings it to 9.95 which is probably a base price anyways. So i don't get where the deal is here? I don't even think that this may be the company behind the pron. Just someone being opportunistic about things.

user-pic

Okay, that is absolutely awesome customer service.

user-pic

@Randy Treibel: Oh heck yeah it's a scam. That company has nothing to do with the movie what-so-ever.

The actual film is called "Wild Cherries 5" it's distributed by Metro Interactive and that scene is the fifth and final scene of that movie.

user-pic

@Ash78: Perhaps you should have. You might find life much better if you saw more of that.

user-pic

@econobiker: No joke: I once found a co-worker on one a porno version of "Hotornot.com"

I never asked her about it, but I'm sure it was a vindictive ex-boyfriend that put it up there.

I mean, I would have told her had it not been for the fear of losing my job and being sued for sexual harassment. Besides, how would you start that conversation anyway?

"Hey, nice day. By the way, when I was cruising the 'net last night I saw a pic of you, nude."

I've never been good at this sort of stuff.

Anyways, back on topic: Is that code just for the people who saw it or can anyone use it? I have a "friend" who may be interested in purchasing said video. His name is Macintosh...Wii. Yeah, that's it.

user-pic

Beautiful. Just as they lead in use of new Internet technology, they evidently understand how to market and make their cutomers happy.

user-pic

@Southern: That makes no sense. The resolution doesn't act as the determinator of which signal you get, only the signal source (analog/digital). The fact that it _only_ happened on SD implies that it was the analog source. The digital source can be SD or HD once viewed on a TV, but the output is still from the same source and logically the same.

user-pic

@slingshotmike: There are way better free ones then that that offer entire movies for free. It's "the" youtube of porn. xvideos is the name.

As for embarrassing myself in front of Meg and the readers by knowing this much, I bid farewell.

user-pic

Is there any update as to how the porn broacast came to be? Come on, Frank/Comcastcares, what can you tell us?
