hm, they've offered this for awhile. I remember going through the motions last year just to check out the interface. I didn't order due to the prices, but customization existed. Boing Boing is behind the times.

Mmmm chocolate babies.

They need to do this with Nutty Bars.

user-pic

will they allow Obama's image on brown M&M's?

user-pic

@IT-Chick:
Hmmmm.....methinks that someone has Nutty Bars on the brain today!

user-pic

"Custom Printed MY M&M'S® are for personal use only. That means no images or names that belong to a business, product, celebrity, specific sports teams, major events, landmarks, or schools or institutions."

That is one of their rules yet in the example idea section they clearly show Domino's Pizza and UPS M&Ms.

user-pic

Anyone have that GIF of DUI Nick Nolte from awhile back?

user-pic

I wonder if young Adolf Hitler Campbell will have trouble getting M&M's? He had a rough enough time getting a cake.

user-pic

Eeeew! Creepy! I wouldn't want to eat a candy with someone's face on it.

user-pic

If someone decides is funny to give me a bag of these with internet memes they are getting 5 across the eyes

user-pic

@Raekwon: We have custom printed M&M's with our company logo on them, and some other trademarks of ours. I think its OK if you are authorized to use the mark.

(We're not just rolling in dough, and buying super-expensive M&M's with our name on it, they were for a trade show, but never ended up getting distributed)

user-pic

@Munchie: Om nom nom nom. You has a flavr.

user-pic

It's right here:

Sorry, I don't know how to embed it in text like you other wizards do.

user-pic

Whoa! Yes I do. Now I am a wizard too.

Sweet.

user-pic

I tried to order some of these with an image from a video game on them. Let's just say that they must have someone reviewing all of the orders with a fine-toothed comb because I got a note saying that the image was not allowed.

user-pic

@skizsrodt: I'm sure his new mommy and daddy will have no problems.

user-pic

@Munchie:

I can haz em n em to om nom nom?

user-pic

@stinkbug: Phrases have been around. As far as I know, the faces are new.

user-pic

This is kinda cute. I'm probably going to order some with our 9 month old daughter's face on it, and send to family as a funny gift.

user-pic

Finally, my dream of having M&Ms that say E will come to fruition.

user-pic

@Raekwon:

They also encourage you to order them with your corporate logo on them for "events" and such.

But as long as you own the image, like ludwigk pointed out, I think they let it slide.

I like the idea, just not the price! Gah! Are they hand-cutting tiny elf dies or what?

user-pic

@B: Wow I thought I was alone in thinking this. I don't scare myself as much now.

user-pic

@Coles_Law: Faces/pictures have been an option for several months. My coworker ordered them for her fiance's birthday back in October.

user-pic

I got to be in on their test run for face candy about a year ago. FACE CANDY!!! I have to say, if you do order yourself up a batch be sure to use a more close up picture of the face, the details will translate better.

user-pic

@Wombatish: My wife and I tried to order specific colored M&Ms for our wedding, and we wanted to have them say M&M (first letter of our first names)...and they said no.

Strange but true.

user-pic

I actually just bought some for my girlfriend for V-day...

unfortunately, I picked pictures of her that were my favorite, but that she might consider....unflattering.

We'll see what she says when she gets them!

And they are pricey, but not that much more then flowers.

And you can't eat flowers.

user-pic

@Jage: "And you can't eat flowers."

You're not trying hard enough.

user-pic

@invisiblenemies: Correction, M&M's taste much better than flowers!

user-pic

@VOIDMunashii: My thoughts exactly. If I saw that in my candy bowl, I imagine my reaction would be something like this: [tinyurl.com]

(No, it's not a rickroll)

user-pic

C'mon Consumerist, follow The Smoking Gun's lead with their pictures of criminals on custom postage and buy some M&Ms with Circuit City's CEO on it or something!

You know, for research purposes!

user-pic

Just in case you were wondering, you can't order blue ones that say "Viagra".

user-pic

@B:

Nope, sorry:

We take great pride in the history of M&M'S® products, so the only single letter we print on our candy is the letter "m".

Also:

Don't
Please don't use objectionable words and phrases. No obscenities or inappropriate images. We don't want to leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth.

To avoid any confusion and keep everyone safe, we will not print any reference to drugs or prescription items, especially those that are in pill or capsule form.

Specifically banned:

"NEW YORK YANKEES", "MARY'S PILLS", "J"

I'd assume due to the no pill reference they'd disallow any Letter-Number-Number-Number combination like "L123" as well. Which is sad, since that could be so much fun!

user-pic

@Munchie: Millhouse is not a meme is a meme, but not anymore because it's totally passed it's prime is a meme.

user-pic

Baby face M&M's? No thanks. I'd rather have this cake for a baby shower:

user-pic

I hope the print quality has gone up drastically...the ones we had done for our wedding were horrible. Although they offered to replace them if we felt they were unacceptable, usually stuff like this is under a tight time frame.

Pictures and my comments of the afore mentioned m&m's:

My brother and his wife had their faces on some for wedding gifts. Somehow I just can't bring myself to eat those M&Ms. Seems kinda gross.

user-pic

@changed my name:

Holy crap, that's awesome!

(I love that site)

user-pic

@stinkbug: Yeah I checked this out about a year ago I think. But like you I didn't press the buy button once I saw the prices.
