Some prankster ought to melt some sticks of butter under the front door of IHOP to see some Black Friday style spills.

Butter on the floor does this:

In another press release this morning, IHOP officials stated that in order to avoid the logistical problems that Denny's experienced during its give-away, the restaurants will opt instead to deliver the free pancakes to the masses via clay pigeon thrower outside of each restaurant.

Oh, dear.. This will surely end in tears.

the only thing that sucks is free pancakes at ihop will still cost you $45 once you add everything else (& by everything else, i mean the usual - bacon, sausage, eggs, crepes, coffee, o.j. & a muffin).

that's what everybody else gets, right?

Here is a tip: want cheap pancakes? Try your local hospital's cafeteria for breakfast.

or combine $1.35 worth of ingredients and make enough pancakes for a family of 4

@undefined: Not to mention gnashing of teeth and rending of clothes...

@Distahs: Knowing the nature of that guy, he'll just start slamming doors again without ever wondering why the tile floor is so damn slippery.

I LOL'ed at this one.

@Plates: Or, as we have learned from Dr. House, check the plate in front of the coma guy.

So it that smiling thing in the picture for this post IHOP's answer to Nannerpuss, Pannerpuss?

Yell: "FREE FOOD NEXT DOOR" in a crowded theater and see how many people get out alive.

@SonOfNannerPuss_GitEmSteveDave: or just steal a plate off of the tray of some kid walking by
(you can call me the nanerpuss, nanerpuss, and guess what, i love pancakes) (does anyone doubt that Denny's won the superbowl this year?)

As and IHOP regular I luv the all you can eat pancakes.

I wonder how the free stack is going to fit into the all you can eat pricing. Do I get a free stack on top of all I can eat?

@mac-phisto:

Friday Night, $6.99 for all I can eat pancakes plus two eggs, 4 sausage links and hashbrowns. Added a beverage plus tax and tip and I was happy, full and out the door for $12.

I miss that smiley face pancake! I used to get it all the time as a kid even though I really never liked the chocolate pancake, I just thought it was so cool looking.
