I just tried it & the site was down.

You can get free cardboard boxes at the local liquor store.

oh man, time to build ninja forts again!

I used the local Freecycle to get rid of boxes after my last move. I'd imagine Craigslist would work too.

I don't think I ever throw cardboard boxes away. I usually just flatten 'em and store 'em for later. Or use them for storage or shipping. The best kind of recycling is direct recycling--no energy usage, no waste.

@chiieddy: That works here in WA, at least. Michigan didn't have state-run liquor stores, though. I had a tough time getting boxes there. Most grocery stores crushed them so if you weren't there at 6 am when they did stocking there were usually none to be had. They also told me they no longer gave away egg boxes due to salmonella concerns.

Space Ghost: Well, here's some boxes. Let's break those down so that they'll store properly.

Zorak: That's boring!

Space Ghost: You don't know from fun. This is responsible!

@Ash78:
I have more empty, flattened cardboard boxes than I need, probably - for the same reasons as you. But, also for me is using them for moving, every 3-5 years. I suppose I'll probably hang onto a bunch until I buy a house.

Now, if only people in my apartment garage would use extra cardboard for oil drips, our garage may not look like a sh*thole.
