I am so excited to get my motorcycle of out storage — I’m in Boston — it’s not even funny. Every spring it’s like riding again for the first time.
I moved to a beach resort area, with lots of flat road, so I see dozens of corvettes and harleys whenever the weather is nice. It makes me want a motorcycle, though I’ve never even ridden on one. (It makes me want a corvette too, but I think that is a bit more expensive).
No lie, as soon as I saw this article I got my Honda Ruckus out of the garage and went for a ride for the first time in about 3 months. Its been pretty cold here, which makes it tough to ride.
Although it’s a lot of fun to drive and really cheap to own(Around $10/mth in gas), I’m probably going to try and sell mine this spring to pay off my car. I’ll probably get another one when I have a better job.
Ah, Florida, year round riding…hate me, yes, I know
I can see Consumer Reports reviewing, say, 49cc motor scooters, but but larger scooters and full-blown motorcycle reviews should be left to those who review them for a living. I don’t think they can just jump-in and present themselves as experts.
Besides, I could see Consumer Reports pasting “Not Acceptable” on all of them because of the real risk of killing yourself.
For the record, we own a Honda scooter and I subscribe to CR.
@Dacker: You don’t think they will hire professional motorcycle writers for their reviews?
I’m in Nevada where there are lots of beautiful natural sights to see while riding. C’mon down to Red Rock Canyon, bikers!!
