        @cynical_bastard: Well, I only need to screw a shelf into a wall and attach some clips to my cabinet doors.. I seriously doubt that would be a problem for any drill. I’m not planning on erecting a building :D

      Whatever @Oranges w/ Cheese: Whatever deal you find on a cordless drill (if that is what you’re shopping for), take that price and spend it on a corded drill. Not only will you get a better tool, but cordless tool batteries will always shit the bed when it comes to charge capacity and are a total waste of money.

        @Rob Weddle: I used to agree, but then I discovered the 18volt harbor freight drill. It is a piece of crap for any really work, but for that quick around the house stuff it can’t be beat. And at $20 for a set that includes the drill, a few bits and a flashlight how can you go wrong.

        For any real work, I’m with you on a corded drill being by far the best bang for the buck. I’m almost never working on a project that can’t be reached by a cheap 100′ extension cord. On the other hand, those new LiOn cordless torque drivers are getting awesome. The demo unit we tried out would on a single charge would put over 100 3″ wood screws into treated 4×4 on a single charge, all in a drill about the size of my palm. I think it was a Metabo.

    That Dell Mini 9 deal is out of this world. Too bad Dell has such a bad reputation with, you know, actually shipping them.

    Worth noting that Dell has a Binding Arbitration clause (section 12 at [www.dell.com]), something the consumerist has railed against (rightly so) in the past.
