You probably won't be surprised by this, but it looks like Circuit City's liquidation deals aren't very good deals at all. [Gizmodo]

@zigziggityzoo: Well, we're not *enemies* with them.
You know, sometimes I even used to link to Engadget posts back when we were under Gawker's ownership.
You know, I really like that even though you're linking to Gawker blogs, the comments section is entirely Consumerist. I suspected this would happen since Consumerist is no longer part of the Gawker network, but I really like that now Consumerists can talk amongst themselves...Jalopnik in particular, is very, very car-speak heavy, which is understandable in a car site. But I like the Consumerist comments better.
Hey, a liquidation company is running the show now. These guys are operating by the book, just like when my high school job shut down. They are probably running 90% off for the next week or so, then 75, then 50 or sixty, etc. If you can get some early sucker money, you are doing your job as a liquidator. The money they are making is theirs, not Circuit City's
@Chris Walters: i'm confused. (i was gone for about 2 weeks after new years when my pc died)
i knew gawker was trying to "spin off" (read: get rid of) consumerist... and i thought that you were fired...
what happened, who owns consumerist now, and are you back "for reals" now?
@downwithmonstercable: yeah, just did some digging... [consumerist.com]
consumer's union seems like an amazing fit for consumerist
@Gstein: Hopefully. There are some politics involved that I've heard about. But I think overall I'm just happy consumerist is still around.
@zigziggityzoo: It's like when your mom and stepdad divorce and your stepsister isn't your stepsister anymore, but you still call her that and buy beer for her and her underage friends without expecting anything in return.

Step 1. Go out of business
Step 2. Sell all remaining inventory to liquidation company for ~fifty cents on the dollar
Step 3. Sell remaining crap at normal prices with BIG SIGNS SCREAMING DEALS DEALS DEALS!!
