If you live in the state of Michigan you can get your taxes done online and e-filed for free [www.michigan.gov] I am sure this applies to most other states.

Link for taxcut says $49.95, not $24.97.

Ben, any reviews from a certain oatmeal loving cat on the Jamba Juice Oatmeal Cup?

user-pic

@SWM,30isoSWF_GitEmSteveDave: Currently, Captain Duvel Moneycat only reviews free oatmeal delivered to his door by jr. PR reps.

user-pic

I just messaged H&R Block asking for a price correction (I bought the download product for $50 about two weeks ago). They were more than happy to comply...YMMV. They did a full refund and had me re-buy the product through the offer above. Pretty great service, kudos to them.

@SWM,30isoSWF_GitEmSteveDave:

Heh, I remember that kitty.

Question, since when did JJ start serving Oatmeal?
Its been a long time since my last visit. I miss the peach pleasure.

user-pic

Add it to your cart and the price changes.

user-pic

Oatmeal cup for a dollar... wtf. With a coupon? Quaker oatmeal is $2.00 for a box of 10 oatmeal packs.

user-pic

For anyone that is still buying DVDs and has not moved on to Blu-Ray, some of those HD-DVDs are the combo formats with the DVD of the movie included, and are cheaper than the DVD version of the movie.

user-pic

@Ben Popken: Given who your overlords are now, Cpt. D. Moneycat can't accept free product anymore.

user-pic

@thisisasignin: Jamba just started serving oatmeal like a week, two weeks ago. Seems like an odd choice for a smoothie joint.

user-pic

@MichaelBrazell: One Coffee for $3.50... when you can buy an entire can of the stuff for the same price (and hot water is free). Its called convenience. Don't ask me why people do it.

user-pic

The deal on the Archos media play is sick. I have an older 404 model that still sees daily use and I love it. I recommend Archos to anyone in the market for a PMP.

user-pic

@Ben Popken: Wow, I wish my cats were so easy. They require delivery by an company VP Administrative Professional or higher only. I had to form an LLC just so they would let me feed them. ;)

user-pic

@MichaelBrazell: But does it come in a cup w/a logo? I think not.

user-pic

@Ben Popken: Will only junior PR reps suffice since they're less likely to be missed? The death-by-accidental-mauling-by-razor-sharp-claws rate must rise appallingly when the waifs of warm oatmeal scent waft over your doorstep.
Kind of like Amok Time, only with felines rather than Vulcans.

Hey! Sounds like a perfect job for the intern!!

user-pic

@Trai_Dep: darn. death-by-accidental-mauling by-razor-sharp-claws

user-pic

@MichaelBrazell: They charge five dollars for a burger? Why, I can slaughter my own cow, raise my own wheat, pound it into flour then bake it into bread for a fraction of that!

user-pic

Is "recertified" a new euphemism for "refurbished"? Firefox doesn't even think it's a real word.

user-pic

@SWM,30isoSWF_GitEmSteveDave: Try mid-level execs, only with a catnip-and-tenderizer blend rubbed into their calves and lower thighs. Holding a cup of Perfect Oatmeal, 'natch.
Cats pretend to be picky but really? They're whores.

user-pic

@Rob Weddle: That's an unfortunate model number for a technology/internet-related product.

user-pic

@Trai_Dep: Yeah, but you're paying a premium for the cheese.

user-pic

@Ash78: Although in the brickbats department, I went to download the TaxCut deal. You uncheck the usual "send me emails about special offers and promotions!" and then you have to manually remove a "download protection" plan costing $5.99 from your cart, but then on your order summary page, two additional "free" items show up as being available for download immediately: something called "Willpower 2008", and something else titled "DeductionPro® 2008".

Wow, freebies to help me with my taxes! ...and then there's the fine print below the "download now" buttons:

An email has been sent containing the download URLs. When downloading the items, you will be added to our Email Campaign list.

Pffffft!

user-pic

@JustThatGuy3: Huh, worked for me, go here directly to the deal:

Also on the HD-DVD movies there are some more titles available from "closeoutmovies" but those DO NOT QUALIFY for free shipping because they're not fulfilled by Amazon.

Why would you get from those without the free shipping you may ask? Because "closeoutmovies" still have stuff like Heroes Season 1, Transformers, the Mission Impossible Series (individual disks,) Flags of Our Fathers, and the movies in the Fast and the Furious/Mummy Series that "traderboa" is missing.

user-pic

@Trai_Dep: Actually, supermarket ground beef is cheaper as well, especially if you're shooting for the same quality. It's all in the processing and serving. Eating at home is almost always cheaper.

As for the oatmeal, this is probably because it's more convenient than coming up with a cup, spoon, and hot water for a packet of oats, or maybe they're just aiming at getting people to buy oatmeal with their morning smoothie. The smoothies are pretty expensive, too, so this is probably on the same level as complaining about the cost of room service at a casino hotel you just blew $9000 at.
