@IH8M_SteveDave: Most stores/malls in my area blanket ban the damned things.
Too bad that doesn't give me the right to knock over kids that ignore it... dunno how many close calls I've had with 12 year-olds on those things in a grocery store.
@Brain.wav: I am so surprised a doctor hasn't done a study to find out if such rigid parts in a child's shoe messes with their development or growth. It would be one of those studies that propels you to national attention, or gets you a big pay off from Heely's to "zip-it".
@larrymac808: Woo-hoo, I'm an 11-11.5! Finally I can glide around like a stuck up helicoptered child!
@Brain.wav: A clothesline or elbow to the forehead gets the message across that such shoes can be very dangerous.
@IrvCrapper: Yeah, I mean in all four posts that featured them last year(which is LESS than Best Buy), they were SO negative:
One was on how they don't honor their rebates as well as Newegg.com.
The next was about how due to a glitch, they didn't charge peoples credit cards, and they were going to.
The third was about how some of the rebates on their site come to you in the form of a gift credit card instead of a check.
And finally, how Buy.com was not responsible for your package once the shipper takes possession of it.
BTW, since you were wronged by them, you should add that to your posts, so people know that you are biased against them, which is why you ignore companies that have more negative stories about them, and only bring up Buy.com, even on days when they AREN'T listed in the morning deals.
<Disclosure> I have purchased from Buy.com, and have never had a problem with them ::knocks on wood::</Disclosure>
@IrvCrapper: The site usually has bad things to say about Best Buy and AT&T too. That doesn't mean they're in the business of pumping sales for them or for Buy.com. It just means that the negative stories don't get businesses banned from the Morning Deals posts.
@rpm773: No no no, you don't hit a child. You get in his way and let him hit you. Then as the child is picking himself up off the ground, his mom will apologize to you instead of the other way around.
@Rectilinear Propagation: I'm starting to think Irv is a stock character from Laugh-In or something. He (seemingly) only pops his head out of the wall to utter something disparaging about Buy.com, only to disappear again just as quickly.

Well, you will ignore this as you have other replies. Still, I feel compelled.
I quite clearly state in my post that I was screwed by them. Would you like me to repeat the narrative each time you ask for the particulars?
If I think a company runs a shoddy business, should I only bring it up once?
Does Buy.Com not warrant my criticism because ot the relative number of negative stories that have posted, versus Best Buy? I don't follow the logic.
I think we are on the same side here. What's your deal?
And why do you care?
@Rectilinear Propagation:
Frankly, I don't think they should be in the business of pumping any sales. That's my humble opinion.
But if they are going to post sales, do it after vetting acceptable vendors. As it is now, if the price is low, Consumerist publishes it. This approach to consumerism exacerbates the very problems the site seeks to solve.
@IrvCrapper: I think you can tell someone about a sale because you think it might be useful information without having the ulterior motive of trying to drum up business for the company.
But if they are going to post sales, do it after vetting acceptable vendors. As it is now, if the price is low, Consumerist publishes it.
If they tried to vet companies for the morning deals they'd either 1) have no morning deals at all or 2) constantly be fielding complaints about a company being on/off the list.
For almost every company that's had a negative story up here, somewhere there's a comment by someone that's had good experiences with them. Furthermore, sometimes said company is the only game in town (or a 50 mile radius) or the lesser of two evils. I think it's better that they let us decide if the deal is worth it.
@Rob Weddle: No, the mom will still yell at you. How dare you let my child run into you? My child is a precious, precious human being.
@Rectilinear Propagation:
Fine, then don't post the deals. Go to DealHack if you want deals. That's it's site's purpose.
When deciding not to use a vendor, I don't look for the stories telling me that they worked well. I look for the stories that indicate that they violated some norms of fair dealing. As such, I don't think anyone looks on balance; "Well, there were three complaints, but three others seemed to like them." Do you reason that way? That's funny.
No. If five people go to Walmart and get rotten milk, and another person tells me her milk was fine. That still means that Walmart sells rotten milk. That's how I reason.
Fine, then don't post the deals.
@IrvCrapper: That's not my decision.
Do you reason that way?
How we decide who we do business with is irrelevant. The point is that some people do have good experiences with companies that others avoid. I don't expect that the people who've had good experiences at the Wal-mart near them to stop going there because a Wal-mart on the opposite side of the country isn't good.

Oh, when you said skate shoes, I thought you meant the ones with skates IN the shoe. I really wanted to be like those annoying kids who glide into things in the stores! Do they make them in adult sizes?
