When I had a problem, I called the IRS help line. The guy there stayed on the phone with me for about half an hour and we figured out the answer. I was very impressed.
"So, are you the people I can ask one tax question?"
"Yes. Thanks for asking-see you next year."
"But-"
Me: Will you really answer me one free tax question?

The IRS does this for free-all year and you can ask as many questions as you want. You may have to wait, but I don't see how this service is really needed?
@loganmo: The IRS said it didn't know the answer to my tax question, and that I'd have to consult a tax attorney.
I asked why we are required to pay the IRS our federal income taxes if there is no requirement by law or constitutional order that supports payment.
I did this earlier today and received a callback in a few hours. Despite asking a very specific question regarding [b]UPFRONT[/b] MIP they answered the question regarding monthly MIP which I already knew the answer.
Now - they were quick, they were friendly, and they even sent me the part of the tax code that answers the question they answered.
