Lost amid the holiday cheer last week was the third collapse of Gawker’s favorite punching bag, Radar Magazine. We have no opinion on the magazine’s failure, but one of our readers has beef with Radar‘s proposal to fill remaining subscriptions.
Subscribers received a postcard from Radar announcing the change:
Dear Radar Subscriber,
We regret to inform you that, due to marketplace conditions, Radar Magazine has stopped publishing. The last issue was October/November.
We have made arrangements for the remaining service of your subscription. You can select to receive one of the magazines listed.
We need your reply by January 12, 2009 in order to insure our timely response to your choice. If we do not hear from you by that date, your remaining subscription will be replaced by Star Magazine.
Again, please accept our regrets for any inconvenience and our thanks for your support.
Besides Star, jilted subscribers can also receive Men’s Fitness or Shape. Our reader is not pleased by these choices, but who knows, maybe Radar will be back up and ready to resume subscriptions in a few months.
