There is likely to be a Woot-off starting at midnight tonight. Here is the email that led us to believe as such:

For the next 12 to 24 months...[ed. blah blah blah funny stuff about the economy oh here we go] you'll want to stay far away from Woot.com this week. The breadth and scope of bargains we'll be offering - especially starting Tuesday morning at midnight - will be powerfully tempting.

as someone who has just discovered woot (and worked during the last two woot offs) Im very excited.
I haven't actually purchased anything off of woot in about a year, but I'll be damned if they don't keep sucking me back.

I was so excited, then I remembered 12 AM their time is 1 AM Eastern. I get off work at 2, and I'll probably have to start closing around 1, sleeping 'till noon....

wtf is it with our license plates?
NC has some of the coolest plates.
there was a photo of a 2GRL1CUP plate, i saw one on my way to work that said "SAY NI!" my friend (windows sysadmin) has a plate that says "IPCONFIG"
and now the wootoff plate
@Gstein: oh, and the "WTF" license plate recall...
our regular plates are in the form of XXX-0000 where X is any letter, and 0 is any number, pressed in order.
we recently got to the WTF series... and they were pressed. (iirc, they remove a few series, like ASS and others i can't remember right now)
after a few months, someone realized that there were license plates that said WTF on them, and what WTF meant, so NC offered to replace all 1000 plates if the owners were offended

yah, a woot-off and their servers are already on their knees. I can't even get in to see comments on the items, and to be honest that's the majority of the fun during the woot-off.

Seems whenever you get an email from Woot, there's going to be a wootoff the next day. I predicted it this one, too. Too bad I have to work (but I turned my boss on to Woot, so he let's me keep a browser window open just to check it!)>
@mamacat49: In all the Woot-Off's I have seen, the BOC always seems to happen around 5pmEST on the last day.
@Git Em SteveDave loves this guy->★: Problem is, the last day could be today or tomorrow, or the next day. The elusive BOC seems to hit right as I get up to get a snack or go use the little boys room.... oh well... I guess getting it 1 time is enough.
invariably, whenever i have a big paper due, there's a wootoff. i thought this was just neat timing until i had a quarter where i had a bunch of papers, and there seemed to be endless wootoffs.
i'm not sure if this is awesome or aggrivating.

VERY good deal on a 4 handset 5.8 Ghz portable phone system right now. It's $39 +s/h, which is about 30% less than this same system goes for at Costco.
