@420greg:
Same thing here. Full series of the West Wing: $269.99, or $161.99 after discount.
On Amazon: $143.99.
Who went #1 in your Wheaties? It's a very fair point, and I hardly think that you'd deem it appropriate if someone's response to a post about tainted food were "don't let your kid eat [product X]." GuJiaXian makes a fair critique. Ben, time to disemvowel yourself.
@GuJiaXian: One of my Ex's got caught in an escalator while wearing regular shoes. If you practice due diligence, you're usually safe in whatever you wear.
@Mxx: Well, you also have to send the original UPC from the package. You can only send the original once.
@Ben Popken: Heh, I have two kids myself, and I have absolutely no desire to ever buy them Crocs (escalators or not). I'm not the richest guy around, but I can afford to buy my kids real shoes. :)
@Git Em SteveDave loves this guy->★: Double true.
I find it funny that both Amazon AND Buxr make that mistake.
@420greg: Oh, dear. Very same thing for the Deadwood box set coming out next week. The original price was higher on Borders than on B&N or even the HBO shop--but I still thought I was getting a deal with the marked-down price of $123. Until I saw your comments and checked Amazon: $108.
I visited Borders "Customer Care" to cancel (it hasn't shipped yet), but they don't allow you to cancel an order once it's submitted. I think that's a $15 lesson learned for me.
@undefined: I think this discussion is a great example of why advertising on Consumerist freaks me out. Ben will write post after post after post attacking a product, but turn around and shill for it right off. It confuses the message, though I hope (but don't necessarily believe) that the majority of Consumerist readers are smart enough not to buy a bad product even at a cheap price.
@SamataCoates: If you call Borders customer service they might be able to cancel it over the phone. Also, if you can afford it, and Borders has a good cancellation policy, you can buy it on Amazon and simply return the other set from Borders when it arrives.
@JustThatGuy3: "#1"? What are you, nine? If you're going to use scatological references, don't talk around them. You just look like an idiot. Say "wee-wee in your Wheaties" or "shit in your Big Mac" or something.
Yeah, yeah. You think it's a sign of intelligence, or your piety, or your sophistication that you don't use words like "piss" and "fuck." Well, it's really not. At least not the way you're using them. If you're one of those guys who thinks swearing indicates a lack of creativity, you have to actually, you know, be creative with your language - not simply bowdlerize popular (but profane) sayings by infantile substitution.
@Ben Popken: I realize that, Ben. But it makes me engage in a personal dialogue of "What if it WERE paid content?". What if the companies who it is your job to "out" for dangerous, unethical, inappropriate or unfair conduct, suddenly become the companies paying your salary? I have seen morning deals quite a few times that made me wonder to myself how many times Consumerist has cautioned readers against those products. I leave it to individuals to decide, but is a very dangerous product a good deal at ANY price? I wouldn't serve tainted dog food to my puppy or put crocs on my kids if they were giving them away free (my choice, of course). But, is there a point at which Consumerist does a DISservice by, for example, not including a footnote warning of the dangerous of which Consumerist is aware? I don't know the answer, but it's food for thought and clearly relevant to your readers.

The NEWEGG deal on the toolbox is dead. They are out of stock, and the price is $29.99
