@weakdome: Hey now! Us northwesterners are feeling it too :-( I'm not even sure at this point if I'll make it from my home in Seattle to my parents house in a suburb 10 miles south for Christmas.
@morganlh85: Oh, right, silly me, I can always find everything I want at the store. Gee, thanks chum, I feel better now.
@morganlh85: Are you actually suggesting that procrastinators do something that nobody has REALLY had to do in, like, 10 years? How heartless of you to expect people to leave the house! This is the internet age. I'm staying home.
@morganlh85: Not so easy! Some of us are snowed in - I just ordered a couple more xmas presents because I don't think I'll be able to head out and buy them here in Portland, OR before xmas....
Lucky me (actually, lucky husband) - Sony's blu-ray player dropped in price by $50 since I looked at it last week & they have free shipping by xmas - SOLD!
@dvddesign: Simmer down... many places still have free shipping or at least a free upgrade. This morning I got free shipping from Sony on a DVD player, and then $15 2 day shipping from Amazon - not too bad....
@unobservant: It's hard to surprise someone when you ask what their prescription is. I would think it would be harder than finding out something like a ring size.
@NHTOB_GitEmSteveDave loves->★: Just say, "You look damed ugly in those glasses, babe. How blind must you be to subject yourself to that kind of fashion crime?" ;)
Oh gee whiz. ANY business can get your precious gift by Christmas IF you are willing to pay up.
In case you are interested, it costs about $620 to send 150 lbs Next Day Air from the East Coast to the West Coast. For the really desperate types, I can arrange a package from China via Next Day Air for a slightly larger fee.
@morganlh85: my beloved Amazon.com has beat in store prices by A LOT on quite a few things I wanted to get and had everything to my door in a very timely fashion!
the internets sure has made getting the flu right before christmas a bit less annoying.
@unobservant: You could just look on the box or the individual case for each lens. But you'd also have to know the prescribing dr's information, for them to verify. So slim chance on the surprise.
Unless you're getting them the non-prescription kind that change your eye color or have effects like cat's eye, white iris, etc. But I don't know if 1-800-contacts sells those....

Just go to the store!
Gawd.
