@forgottenpassword: Yes, it has no internal tuner. I bought the same model a few months ago from Buy.com after it was featured in a Morning Deals post. For what it's worth, I have it hooked up to a computer with a TV tuner card and it works great.
@forgottenpassword: not if you're hooking it up to cable/satellite. If you wish to use it with bunny ears or an antenna (perhaps to get over-the-air HD broadcasts), then yes you would need an external tuner.
Otherwise, no. Whatever device you plug into it will have the tuner part (cable box, sat box, media center PC) built in.
@Cyco: Kate Spade is a high-end American fashion designer. She's most well known for her purses, which (IMO) are very classy, well made and are fairly timeless. This isn't Gucci sticking their gold Gs on every spare inch of space, I think her work is very good, less about trends and more about looking timeless.
I'm such a fashion nerd.
@discounteggroll: You would also have 2 1GB sticks of RAM and a 250GB hard drive to use or eBay (unless your prices are the net cost of the replacement minus the stock hardware).
If you really want to save on Apple hardware buy it (1) while a college student or more shadily through a student or (2) from a local distributor rather than through a local/online retail shop or (3) on a sales tax holiday.

so that 37 inch "monitor" would require some type of tuner to turn it into a tv?
