Free Entree At Applebee's For Military Veterans

2261 views

Applebee's: Free entree for military veterans. Be sure to check if your Applebee's is on the list of 164 participating locations before leaving the house. (Thanks to Jamie!)

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

Apparently Applebee's doesn't think there are any veterans that live in Michigan.

user-pic

Is Applebee's food better than what they serve in warzones?

user-pic

Why does the photo say, 'Veterans Day Test'?
Is this some master plan in order to give us the runs?

user-pic

Wow, this is discrimination. There's no participating locations in NJ -- and I'm sure my 85 year old dad would like a free burger today.

user-pic

Thank goodness I always carry a copy of my DD Form 214 with me.

user-pic

@RandomHookup: Good thing I don't, so I can just use my military ID. Or a photo of me in uniform.

user-pic

Well, I was going to tell my dad about this but it looks like ZERO locations here in Florida are participating. Nice. Well, at least there are no veterans here.

user-pic

It appears that none of the participating locations are near military bases (No Clarksville TN, Hopkinsville, KY, Killeen, TX, El Paso, TX, Fayetteville, NC, etc). If Applebees is serious, they should open it up to vets at ALL Applebees locations.

user-pic

@meechybee: Free burger today, costly ER visit tomorrow. If he makes it that long......

user-pic

We can only choose from 5 meals, though. I guess that's better than nothing. Does it include the drink?

user-pic

@redqueenmeg: Better than the Texas Roadhouse offer which tells you to come between 4 and 6 pm and either wear your uniform or bring your military ID. You can always tell the places that really don't know much about the military.

user-pic

Damn, none in Ohio, either. I'd have gone to my local one for a free snack.

user-pic

Only 1 participating location in the entire state of CA? Well, there goes my free lunch. Oh well, at least dinner will be free.

user-pic

The nation of freebies.

user-pic

I think our veterans would feel more appreciated if we didn't take them to Applebees.

user-pic

I love how "picture in uniform" counts for proof of service. Can I dust off some of my Freshman year JROTC pics and go get some free boneless chicken wings?

user-pic

Figures, none in Florida, where most of the Vets have retired too.

user-pic

I'm a veteran who is NOT interested in anything free from Applebee's.

A despicable outfit preying on veterans to get their families in the resturant for some free crap.

@kwsventures:

I hear you! Where I am, veterans are complaining they couldn't rent city buses during rush hour this remembrance day and that they were "forced" to rent school buses. Did I mention that veterans get free transit on our buses for their entire lives?

Yet, somehow, this isn't enough, and they need to try to make the the city bus system look bad for not giving them entire buses. *sigh*

It's this sort of attitude that does not endear young people in our world to war vets. There's similar ludicrousness regarding white poppies as well happened the other year up North here. There's limits to everything...

I know, I know, the few bad apples spoil the lot. I'm sure most vets are very thankful for all the excellent things our country has rewarded them with, and I am still equally, if not more, thankful to them for my freedom.

user-pic

WTF, none in my state. I was going to call up my dad and tell him I was taking him to dinner. Oh well, might still do it.

user-pic

FYI- For those of us vets who are in So. Cal., Knott's Berry Farm has free addmission for vets, active duty personal plus a guest from Nov 1st through Thanksgiving. They do this every year. It's also pretty cool they allow you to bring a guest free also.

For all the other Vets and servicemembers out there...thank you for serving.

It was only supposed to be certain stores. they were running a test to see if they wanted to do it next year. Someone scanned the menu and emailed it to every military base in the United States. So basically they can't refuse to give you the deal. Or at least they aren't supposed to.

user-pic

McCormick & Schmick's does this, but it was on Sunday and I didn't get the notice. Much better deal, but I didn't hear anything about it until today.

user-pic

I'm going to have to break out my USMC tats.
