Consumerist's Morning Deals Help Man Live Good Life For Less
Daniel read our post about a couple learning how to get their credit card rates lowered from The Consumerist and "realized I have a lot to thank the Consumerist for as well," he says. "At the moment I am wearing an Italian suit I bought for $99 at amazon.com and next weekend I will be staying at the luxurious Hay-Adams five-star hotel in Washington, DC, for a mere $20 a night. Both of those deals were posted in your morning deals round-up." Consumerist: saving you money on stuff you already have AND stuff you have yet to have. We're your recession buddy!

@Ben_Q2: $99 suits are at Amazon:
If the link doesn't work, just search for suit, should be the first thing to come up. Several colors available.
@AlteredBeast: You can still get the suit at Amazon: [www.amazon.com]
Just be aware it's not really a $1300 suit, but they're supposed to be pretty good for the price.
@Saboth: No way those suits were ever worth $1300 but definitely still a good deal with $50 or so in tailoring. I own a suit similar to the $99 one I got and it goes for about $300 at the most in a department store.
@downwithmonstercable: I love woot, dealhacker, etc. but you have to realize that sometimes they let you spend money on things you don't need and wouldn't have purchased without them, deal or no deal. Just something to keep in mind.
I think it was 2 or 3 weeks ago or so, my husband received his expense check for all of the driving he does for work. We were discussing what he'd like for Christmas and all that, and he mentioned he wanted a new monitor for his desktop so he could play Fallout on a larger screen (he was playing it on his laptop).
During that week, I caught your morning deals, and there was a 22-inch widescreen monitor from some no-name company up for $160-something with free shipping. I took a look at it, and on the left-hand side, the site was advertising similar offers. I found on that toolbar a 22-inch widescreen Acer for $175. Hook, line, and sinker. My husband loves his new monitor. Thank you very much Consumerist, even if we didn't directly buy from your morning deals but your morning deals got us to the deal we needed. :)
@citnos: If that no-name company was AOC or Envision (both the same company and both being the ones that's been selling for about $160 with free shipping within the last 4 weeks), then you actually would have gotten a better monitor than the Acer, at a cheaper price. PC Magazine gave AOC/Envision their top rating and said it's the best they've seen/used. ;]

I got married in that Italian suit a few weeks ago! $99 for a $1300 suit. Admittedly, it was tight up around the shoulders, but meh...99!
