Ben, you should mention the wootoff going on still!

user-pic

@Suttin: I totally second this. BoC here I come!

user-pic

@gaya2081: Hopefully the same crap from last woot-off doesn't happen where their servers crash/crawl again and you miss out on the BoC's.

user-pic

@Git Em SteveDave loves this guy-->: This essentially happens every time a BoC comes up.

Right now they are advertising a vacuum cleaner. I am reading the forum and have noticed that Woot replaces "sucks" with "vacuums". I find this hilarious.

user-pic

@Suttin: well, they've been recycling the products all through: lcd tv, monitor, dyson vacuum cleaner, the same article has appeared thrice atleast, I've seen. Maybe the next woot-off I won't be so excited.

The amazon reviews for the Jabra BT 2040 seem to indicate stay away from this product. A bluetooth device for $10 does sound too good to be true.

@springboks: i got one off buy a few months ago for 2.01 shipped. it still works great.

My company uses the Optiplex GX60, and it's trash. The 20gig hard drives that they come with typically vibrate themselves to a disk error death in 6 months. The power supply is a weak point as well. Fairly typical of a low-cost Dell, the cheapest off-brand components they can get their hands on.

Oh, and they're huge, heavy cases. It's slim but there's still a ton of weight.

I thought the GX60 was a typo and they were trying to move GX260's which has a 2.6 P4 in them.
The GX260's are a bulletproof design in the desktop form but the SFF (small form factor) they have issues with the power pack and mainboard.
You get a GX260 stuffed with more than 512 Megs, it'll clip along running XP for office tasks, but it won't play games worth a damm due to it having the Intel GPU chips. These are Office systems folks.

For what it's worth, the Leading Hotels deal seemed to go off without a hitch this morning. Got my request in within 2 minutes, they say 7 days or less to find out if your request is available.

@Suttin: Tried for a BOC, didn't get it, but I honestly didn't figure my chances were great to start with. It seems like playing the lottery, except the prize is most likely stuff you don't really need instead of that big-screen TV everyone hopes for.

I did almost get a BOC shirt, though, because those were funny. But it seemed a bit too esoteric to wear in public.

user-pic

@lalaland13: That, and I am quickly amassing a too-large woot shirt collection. And, of course, the economy sucks.

user-pic

@lalaland13: I got my BOC's. I am very happy with Woot. I had a two Sansa's show up w/problems, and they sent me a third and refunded my money w/o me even asking. As for my BOC, I think I will be happy no matter what it is. I'm hoping for another Roomba, preferably a 500 series to be a sibling to my current little one. She seems lonely.

I managed to catch a BoC in progress, but it ended before my order could be processed. *Sob*!

Looks like it's ended now.
