If you have a Costco membership, you can get 48 Kirkland brand AAs for ~$12. Kirkland generics are always very good; I believe Candlepowerforums.com found their capacity to be between that of plain old Duracells and Duracell Ultras.
@Rachacha: I'm not sure if things have changed since I owned my last inkjet, but back then Lexmark was one of the only brands for which you could not find cheap generic ink cartridges. So while you'd be paying $25 a pop for Lexmark cartridges, you could be spending $4 apiece for generics for a Brother.
