The chair from amazon is priced at over $100…
I really had my hopes up about the hammock chair – check the price / link again please
@janetcarol: What Amazon likes to do is offer something at an insanely low price, then start raising it as more people buy it, so folks who come later end up paying more than those who first bought it. It has happened before on a few other morning deals featured here.
@theblackdog: those jerks
Even if the chair was only 35 bucks, the stand for the chair is evidently made of platinum.
230 bucks for some angled tubing?
My friend has a chair that looks just like that.
But it ain’t for hammocking.
@shorty63136: That chair is probably easier to clean up after usage than this one would be
That’s not just any angled tubing….that’s OUTBACK angled tubing
It was for $35 when I posted it. They changed it. Also, you don’t need to buy the stand. Hang it from a tree limb or beam.
@Ben Popken: Ben can you start buying them for us, and we’ll pay you back?
For those looking to save a dime, the free agent 1TB drive is $144.90 at Newegg.
@Xerloq: A word of warning on the Free Agent Pro Hard Drives… the USB connector at the base of the drive is soldered very poorly to the board. Mine recently broke and is now “floating” inside.
Other people are having similar problems… [forums.seagate.com] …without much help from Seagate Customer Service. I’m still waiting to hear back…
@dinger_82: Had the same problem on mine, except it was the power supply. I wrapped the cable around the base to insure no accidental strain on the connector.
@Git Em SteveDave loves this guy–>: Did you need a replacement part? And if so, did Seagate come through for you and send one (or at least offer to sell one?)
I really don’t want to have to buy an eSATA cable + USB adapter to get my data back and add even more cable carnage under my desk…
@dinger_82: Mine was intermittent, so I fixed it myself by reaching in with my bag o’ probes, and bending the contacts closer.
Panasonic phone useful if you want to cancel your landline.
It features a Bluetooth connection to let you dock your cell phone to it, after which you don’t need to connect the Panasonic phone to your landline, you can just use the Panasonic handsets as extra handsets to make and receive calls via your cellphone account (while your cellphone is in the house).
We have a similar unit from GE. The one change we had to make is that when dialing out you have to first dial # before the number. But with it, we shut off our Verizon landline (switching our DSL with them to a dry-loop) saving ourselves about $30/month and getting to take advantage of the ‘free’ caller ID and long-distance that come with the cellphone account (the caller ID shows up on the landline handsets).
Our mobile account is with T-Mobile, so we were looking at their VOIP-based landline replacement, but that required continuing to pay a monthly fee. So our GE device paid for itself in a few months.
