You might want to put an addendum on that Starbucks clip – that’s $2 Grande iced drinks after 2pm with morning purchase.
Also on Starbucks, MAKE SURE they stamp your receipt. The store I go to in East Boston is relatively new and they didn’t know about this promo. It runs until 9/2 and is for ANY grande iced beverage (including Frappacino).
You mean I gotta go in there twice? That dog won’t hunt, Monseur.
@Scuba Steve: I go in for my iced coffee each morning (it’s cheaper there than at Dunkin’) and then sometimes my husband and I go in for a treat in the evening utilizing his employee discount. Not every evening, but enough and without advance planning that I plan to take advantage for Frappacinos on hot days.
I went into my local starbucks (fourbucks)the other day. I usually get a cup of coffee from 1.77 (with tax)… I got an iced soy chai instead. It costs almost 4 dollars and I think I finished it with one sip from the straw. 4 dollars for a plastic cup of ice. Talk about a ripoff. I’ll never make that mistake again.
@AngrySicilian: And this has to do with the discount, how?
FTR they’ve been doing the Starbucks thing for weeks.
@chiieddy: Maybe he got it for $2 with the deal?
…nah, probably just wanted to bash Starbucks. Any excuse necessary?
@chiieddy: 2 dollars for a sip from a cup of ice is still not worth it. Sorry I didn’t take you by the hand and spell it out for you.
So when Levis has a sale, they really mean they’re selling their stuff at the what-it-should-be price?
@AngrySicilian: Then tell Dunkin Donuts the same. Iced anything never works out to be even half the advertised size.
Anyone ever ordered their “iced” drink of choice at Starbucks with no ice added? You get some strange looks at first but I just take it home and put the drink in my 24 ounce cup and fill the rest with ice. I win. ^_^
@drjayphd: Agreed… and @divrekku: agreed. This may be a leap, but I think starbucks worked with their appliance suppliers to design their ice to displace the most possible amount of liquid… its almost like getting a solid block of ice.
