The ruling says nothing about the validity of any of the individual claims or theories. It's just a procedural question of whether a class action is preferable to individual cases.

@Bill Brasky: Even as a nonsmoker, I have to agree. No one ever forced a smoker to smoke, unless they were a rat.

"Cigarettes made me sick." You'd throw a fit if they didn't sell them to you. I'm not a "Blame the victim" type, but the line between victim and volunteer is pretty clear on this.
What fool would think any cigarette might be less harmful than any other? It's still a bunch of carcinogens, geez.
