Nest Comments On Consumerist
Once people start replying to each other's comments on Consumerist, it can be hard to keep track of all the various sub-discussions going on within a comments thread. That's why it's so great that YogurtEarl has updated his nested comments script for Consumierst once again. This is an optional add-on that makes it so comments that reply to one another appear below each other and indented. If you're a Firefox user, you can install this script if you have GreaseMonkey, Internet Explorer users if you've installed Trixie, and Opera users if you have Opera UserJS.

@BalknChain: I added it to all the Gawker sites myself. In Firefox, go to Tools > Add-Ons. Select "Options." Click "Add" and then add the url for each of the Gawker sites you want.
Example: for Deadspin, add "http://deadspin.com/*"
@homerjay: I tried switching from Safari to Firefox multiple times. Three weeks was the longest I lasted. Don't do it.
@Bryan Price: I agree; nice idea, poor performance, at least on my older system here.
Of course, if Gawker actually cared about this nested comments thing, they could do it themselves internally.
@Michael Belisle: I tried Safari once. As soon as I saw that you can't extend it one bit, I switched back.
@MissPeacock: Did you have any trouble adding sites? I can't get Jezebel to work. I added jezebel.com and www.jezebel.com.
@Buran: Why would you want to extend Safari?
Apple products are without flaws. They are the sublime paragons of superlative perfection and unparalleled excellence. Only through Apple can we achieve true universality and totality. Amen.
@Michael Belisle: The leader is good. The leader is great. We surrender our will as of this date.
Actually, my Safari crashes all the time. I'm just SO used to it that I can't switch.
rabiddachshund: It's about scratching an itch. When you consistently are annoyed by something a site does, you can either complain to the site owner, or fix it yourself. Hooray for power to the people.
I can think of one reason why they don't have nested comments by default, and that's because nested comments make back and forth arguments more likely. You often see the 3rd-11th levels of nested comments on slashdot entirely consisting of two people arguing back and forth about something fairly removed from the topic at hand. Non-nested comments breaks that up.

Tell your buddies at Gawker to make this an option instead of something we have to hack together with a script.
