Monoprice just made themselves 4 dollars.

God bless you Monoprice, once again outing the outrageous markup on cables at every other store on the planet.

I had to pay about 20 bucks for that same cable when the Wii came out because monoproce didn't carry them yet. Grrr.

Word to the wise: if your audio inputs are separate from your tv (like on a receiver), these cable won't be easy to hook up. You can either get high def via the component video connection or component audio, not both. Reason being, these stupid cables have all of the connections glued together and you can't cut them apart without ruining the entire cord. So yeah, it's 6 ft long, but the reach between cables is only a few inches.

I have a Panasonic plasma without built-in speakers so I have to run my audio through a receiver. Cable no reachy! It sucks.

Oh, and the official Nintendo cables have the same problem, so don't both spending the extra money.

does anyone know a good backup ipod battery that's not disposable. I'm thinking something where you just put some AA's into a device and plug it in to the ipod and recharge it that way.

Thanks Consumerist and Monoprice! Love the reasonable shipping as well.

Imaginary, you can also buy a stereo RCA cable and a double-female connector to get around that issue. I have to do that for most of my setup as I have the same issue that you do - tv no reachy the receiver.

"Having stunning Nintendo Wii High Definition Graphics via component video connection for your HDTV is an absolute requirement." Does anyone else get a kick out of this sentence? 480p is certainly a step up from 480i, but i'd hardly qualify it as "Stunning High Definition Graphics!!!!!" ('!!!!!' added for effect)

@orielbean: Yeah, I've done that too. I still don't like it. I paid all that freaking money for a nice system, so I want my HDMI dammit. I ended up moving the Wii to a different tv. It bugs me too much.

6FT Nintendo Wii Audio Video HD Component Cable for $3.94

The Wii doesn't have the ability to have HD. Suckers...

Be wary with DeepDiscount. I've bought a ton from them over the last few years, but they misshipped an item in November and are still giving me the run-around on a refund or actually sending the items to my proper address.

@NoNamesLeft: The main problem is that on many HDTVs, my LCD one included, there is a lag from many input devices. Ever tried playing a video game with a lag? No matter how good you are, you'll fail every time when what you're seeing in the now really happened in the past.

Didn't know about this when we first got our tv - I was failing guitar hero left and right and beginning to think all those months of practice were a dream when my husband came to my rescue.
