Let's Celebrate Easter With A Lead Contamination Recall!
The CPSC would like you to know that the Hobby Lobby has a couple easter-themed recalls.
13,000 easter egg tops and camoflage easter eggs are contaminated with lead paint and pose a poisoning hazard to children who handle them.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled Camouflage Eggs and the Spinning Egg Tops away from children and contact Hobby Lobby to receive a $3 exchange card that can be used toward the purchase of any other products sold at Hobby Lobby stores.Happy Easter!

I find it highly suspicious that some of the more recent recalls seem to have been issued mostly too late for any product to be returned or unsold I.E. the Sees candy recall on February 13th and now this.
Hobby Lobby had a lead recall right before Halloween on a treat bucket IIRC.
Some of Hobby Lobby's offerings are dollar store scary.

Rather than deal with these bothersome recalls, I think people should continue to buy their children toys from China--just don't allow your kids to play with them or touch them.
The good xtians that run Hobby Lobby only sold the lead filled crap to non-xtians & others that work on Sunday.
They're trying to get rid of the rest of us

The easiest way to avoid something that has the potential of having lead is avoid anything that says "Made in China" on it. It also has the added benefit of not putting money into the repressive Chinese system so it can continue to repress people and occupy Tibet.
@Triborough: Yep, and they're not hard to find either. At the risk of dragging this off-topic I am completely happy with my 100% Made in Japan Panasonic laptop.

@loueloui: The problem is that the CPSC (and other federal agencies) must negotiate EVERY WORD of the press release that announces the recall. It is sort of a double edged sword. By allowing the manufacturer or retailer to negotiate the press release, the company is generally willing to cooperate with CPSC and voluntarily recall the product. If the company does not cooperate, then it takes a vote by a quorum of the commission to force a recall, as well as other many hoops that the CPSC is required to do when they invoke a mandatory recall. All these hoops would push the recall of plastic easter eggs to sometime around July 4. Most voluntary recalls (where the company cooperates) can be turned around and announced in about 2-3 weeks after the CPSC is made aware of an issue.
Whoever thought making Camo Easter Eggs is just an asshole...

I saw these at a Town & Country supermarket yesterday. Are the lead ones a Hobby Lobby exclusive, or are all the camo-eggs from this brand toxic?
