Great Moments In Commercial History: Fred And Sharon's Movies
Here's a commercial that demonstrates that even local public access TV has standards that must be met. Fortunately for us, when public access says no, YouTube says "yes."
If you'd like to nominate a commercial for our weekly series "Great Moments In Commercial History" send us an email at tips [at] consumerist [dot] com. Be sure to put "Great Moments In Commercial History" in the subject. To see other commercials that have been featured in the series, click here.

@Ciao_Bambina: It's possible their $5/month hosting plan just nuked from all the traffic. I think this has been going 'round the Intarnets as of late.
Oh, dear lord, I found the Motherload: [youtube.com]
My abject apologies for doubting the veracity of a Consumerist posting.
This is actually more post modern than is acceptable. I have seen the future...and it is Fred and Sharon.
By the way, if you're interested, a quick Google confirms that the (250) area code belongs to none other than...Vancouver, B.C.
Yes, folks. Fred and Sharon are smoking that potent Vancouver pot.
"I think it's viral."
I wondered about that myself. But I used to watch some really awful local commercials in the early 60's. As now car dealers and furniture stores using themselves as icons for their commercials. Theres a car dealer in Richmond, VA. known as $300 down man and his pitbull Mack Mack. You know a "buy here - pay here car lot. He wears a yellow rubber super hero outfit. It looks put together with a low end video camera and editing program. Not near as bad but really awful for sure.

That was sad...
