Apple Fixes Rush Limbaugh's Mac After He Complains On-Air
Conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh was having problems with his Mac. A program called Time Machine wasn't restoring his emails properly and repeated calls to Apple Support were fruitless. Based on complaints in online forums, he wasn't the only one either. So finally he complained about it on-air and that caught Apple's attention enough to assign an engineer to go fix it (the guy had to delete the "null mail folder" and rebuild it in the internal directory with the terminal command). That's the power of leveraging your voice . But you don't need to have your own radio show, just deploy some of the technique that we described in "The Ultimate Consumerist Guide to Fighting Back" or in our interview with Ron Burley to get real customer satisfaction.

@Bladefist: Yes, because we all know the most popular things are always the best.
That said, Rush was pretty funny back in the day. I think he needs a Democrat in the oval office, though.
And both are sad, sad facts revealing a lot about our average intelligence level & willingness to believe whatever we hear.
@Bladefist: Yes, and I was just reading the papers today noticing how well we were doing on their watch.
@B: Or the most popular cars, or most popular music...
Most popular doesn't mean best or even correct for that matter. But to give credit, ad revenue is a good thing.
@Jaysyn: lol wow. I love how every time people disagree, it's because we're all drones. God forbid I actually think for myself and agree with another person.
Look at our economy: www.drudgereport.com - Then go vote for Obama who wants 15 trillion dollar healthcare system. Yep. Intelligence.

@Bladefist: Surely you've heard the old proverb...
'What is popular is not always right; what is right is not always popular.'
Ok lets get some (non-right/left) facts straight about this.
Rush is a huge Apple nerd and is VERY smart when it comes to his machines. So his problem is not one people would normally experience since he has a very specific Mac setup going for him with his numerous macs. While it WAS a known problem it wasnt a widespread one with everyone, so it was not likely on Apples "rush" list of fixes.
Rush has given Apple a HUGE amount of free advertising on air through his numerous times of extolling the virtues of the system. Im sure regardless of him being on air versus him emailing Jobs himself, he would have gotten a fix going.
@mgy: Yep, heard it, discarded it immediately.
Look liberals, the point has been made to me, what is popular is not always right. But Rush is right, except about using apples. But he has the money for the apple tax.
Want to bet nobody here who hates Rush has listened to even one hour of his show?
After writing a column calling Rush a bigot, based on what other people said about Rush, Wash Post's (liberal) William Raspberry decided to actually try listening to him for a week.
His next column was titled, "Rush, I'm sorry" ... apologizing to Rush for attacking him by relying solely on the claims of those who had never had the integrity to listen to his show before dismissing him as a bigot, since he himself had, surprisingly, found nothing bigoted or hateful from Rush's lips.
Now *that's* being open-minded.
Awful nice of you guys to avoid the premise of the story -- a famous person got Apple to fix his laptop... much like some of you have.
So he is a conservative. I am also an evil conservative hatemonger that drives a hydrocarbon-powered eco-vehicle. I am also a consumerist and a capitalist like many of you.
@dorkins: That was back in 1993. Rush has devolved significantly since then. Something about all that access to this administration and all that.
But the important thing is, Rush got his Mac back courtesy of talent on loan from God. Nowhe can go back to doctor shopping.
@dorkins:
I hate Rush, and all he stands for, and I end up listening to him at least once a day because I need the traffic reports that cut in on the station where his show is.
@dorkins:
I used to do general maintenance work w/ my father back in 98-00 during the summers. He made me listen to Rush on the radio every.single.day.
And I used to sit next to a right-winger at work and had to listen to Rush when this co-worker was at his desk.
Glad to no longer be bound to listening to Rush out of obligation!

@apronk: see what impulse does?
well im glad he's getting a fixed computer
@Toof_75_75: but the one thing he DID expose though is how easily anyone can get addicted to prescribed pain medications. of course, the media is all like 'zomg! a conservative is addicted to drugs! what a hypocrite!' but millions of americans have pain issues from weight or getting hurt on the job, and become addicted to these medications prescribed to them by their trusted dr.
@Bladefist: Honestly, I'd rather have a $15 trillion healthcare system than a $5 trillion war.
Not that I'm voting for anyone you'll ever hear about, being a drone & all.
During GHWBush's administration and into the start of the first Clinton one, I listened to Limbaugh every single day. Maybe 5 years total.
Best thing I ever did; mainly I learned that whatever an obese, thrice-divorced, drug-addicted, hypocritical demagogue says or likes, do the exact opposite and you won't turn out like he or she does.
Has worked like a charm so far.
Rush is a very smart (and rich) man, but good grief, what a mess of a human being, not worth emulating. Getting political or moral guidance from Limbaugh is like following parenting advice from Britney Spears.
@Bladefist: Intelligence should tell you that borrowing money from our children/grand children to pay for the last 7 years of bad fiscal policy is much worse than supplying health-care to citizens.
I'm fiscally conservative as hell, but the gov't has 3 jobs - defend (that means from within our borders and is the job of police AND military), educate (college level included), and medicate. Otherwise, butt-the-hell-out.
@ohiomensch: I know what you mean. I work in an office that's 99% liberals ... you should hear the hate that spews every lunchtime ... hate for people that aren't like them (they tend to forget I'm there). I guess we're even :)
@crapple: If only you could have made that first one rhyme.
Anywho I agree with you except for the medicate part. You're first paragraph is fine with me. Bush has not stuck to party values on his fiscal policy. You're preaching to the choir my friend.
@crapple: Just out of curiosity; where did you get the three jobs? Defend, check, but educate and medicate?
@crapple:
to clarify my request for elaboration on the educate portion of your post: specifically, the college level, not primary or secondary.
@Peeved Guy: My own personal beliefs. I should have specified - apologies after the fact. I thought the 'butt-the-hell-out' would have sufficed, I don't think it's used in the constitution. :)
@Bladefist: I know, it was unintentional, but it would make for one helluva slogan if it did rhyme. I wouldn't have expected you to agree with the 'medicate'; while I'm fiscally conservative, I'm socially liberal.
@Peeved Guy: The gov't is responsible for all of those levels, just stating the college level specifically as it's gotten outrageous to attend even a publicly funded college.
@apronk: @ohiomensch: Oh - and my own apologies.
I'm curious though - what it is he stands for that you ... dislike so intensely.
