309-417-2821 Is The Consumerist Fax Line

If you've got a hot tip or confession and want to fax it in, 309-417-2821 is our fax number. Several company insiders have expressed interest in sending us stuff via fax number since yesterday's Verizon leak, undoubtedly attracted by the degree of anonymity a fax machine provides.

consumerist has a fax number in central illinois?

They moved there, found it to be cheaper than running the show from NYC.

P-Town represent! Unless it's Bloomington. Boo.

Wow... a Peoria, IL fax number?

How is a phone # that a fax comes from any more anonymous than a throw-away Yahoo email account?

A couple of years ago, I heard an interesting lecture by an acclaimed technologist, who claimed that some things, beyond all reason, JUST WON'T DIE. Paper faxes were one, I can't remember the rest. Pagers/beepers? Vinyl LPs?

@savvy9999: I miss pagers/beepers. Just because I could get a page from someone I don't want to speak to right then, and later just say I couldn't find a phone.

Who was the person that leaked the fax number?

What is next, opening up a telegraph line? I cannot remember the last time I sent a fax

Isn't the fax number of the sender suppose to appear at the top of the fax per federal law? A reverse 411 search will then tell you the sender.

I got some HOT stock tips! you know you want them.

Dial... beep beep

Just send the fax from any FedEx Kinko's or UPS Store and that way they won't see your phone/fax number.

Should I be worried that the Peoria Journal-Star is secretly behind The Consumerist? That this blog is originating from a secret bunker in the woods behind the Goodwill on 150?

I miss that Goodwill. I had great luck finding used LPs there...
