Consumerist Nominated For 3 Bloggies – Last Chance To Vote!

The Consumerist made it to the final round of the Bloggies and we need your votes by the end of today to get the gold. We’re finalists in three categories: Best Topical Weblog, Best Group Weblog, and Weblog of the Year. If you haven’t voted yet, today is the last day. Head on over to 2008.bloggies.com to let your voice be heard on who you think are the best of the blogs. Click the buttons under at least three categories. Complete the word verification test at the bottom. Enter a real email address that you can check. Wait for the verification email and click the URL inside to finalize your ballot. Last time we posted this, people were concerned about their email address getting sold to marketers. This is not one of those operations. And once again, should we win, on the day that it’s announced, all the posts during that day will be illustrated with cat-based photography.

    Perez Hilton? Really?

The Internet: Not just for smart people anymore.

  2. HRHKingFriday says:

@JMH: You didn’t get the memo, or notice things like Digg and 4Chan?

  3. JMH says:

Nah, I’ve been making that observation for a while, Perez just happens to be the one in the image in this post.

  4. no.no.notorious says:

if perez didn’t look so silly, then he would never be “famous”

  5. boandmichele says:

@HRHKingFriday: so…you are comparing perez hilton to 4chan…?

  6. HRHKingFriday says:

@boandmichele: Have you ever seen the comments on perez hilton? Still, trash is trash.

  7. Trai_Dep says:

    Simply put: Perez. Must. Die.
    That is all.

  8. Trai_Dep says:

    Oh. And (swoon): kitties!

  9. pestie says:

I’ve never heard of half of these blogs.

  10. descend says:

    @JMH:

    a. The internet was never for smart people.
    b. I give them credit for just titling it “weblog of the year”, rather than “best weblog”.

  11. yagisencho says:

I tried voting for those categories where I’d actually visited the websites, but the script requires a vote in EVERY category. Oddly enough, I just don’t have enough exposure to needlepoint, gay lifestyle, or celebrity gossip to make choices in those categories. So I won’t be submitting my vote after all.

Sorry guys – hope you win!

  12. Ben Popken says:

@yagisencho: Eh? I’m pretty sure it only requires 3 categories. Make sure that you are doing the CAPTCHA at the bottom (and correctly, no spaces).

  13. shanaynay says:

Sorry peeps, Dooce gets my vote.

  14. Trai_Dep says:

    Shanaynay, Yag -

You can vote for one of the other categories, y’know. It’d be nice to have representation on any of the categories. And, Yag, I skipped several cats since I honestly drew a blank (and the sites’ banners lacked kittens, my back-up deciding factor). That works fine.

    :)

  15. riverstyxxx says:

    All voted.
I noticed “I can haz cheeseburger” was up for a nomination. I was like wtf.

  16. cryrevolution says:

@riverstyxxx: Hey I love that site! And based on the kind of traffic that site gets, I would imagine it would included. Lots of people love teh kittehs.

  17. Consumerist Moderator - ACAMBRAS says:

Ben, can we have a full day of cat photos anyway, regardless of Bloggie outcome?

  18. Trai_Dep says:

Or, in a “hurt me g-o-o-d” move, kitties if a win. Puppies if a loss. :)
