Now if we could find out if the guy who made the food washed his hands…
Great, now we will get to pay MORE for our food since they have to waste money putting up signs that 3 or 4 health nuts might look at. Everyone already knows that fast food is no good for you so why bother. Either eat it or dont.
@ripple: Riiight. Because these signs will somehow magically cost more than the signs they already put up and revise every time their menus change.
@ripple: …and knowing that fast food isn’t good for you is different from knowing that that side you were about to throw in would double your calorie intake for the meal. Look, the world isn’t divided between people who are ultra-health-conscious and those that completely don’t care; there are folks who want to strike a balance, and having more information easily available somewhere folks that aren’t “health nuts” will see it makes it easier to do that.
I’m all for this, as Charles Duffy pointed out in his comments this is the sort of thing that will help people who do want to strike a balance.
However, I’d like to see it extended to other restaurants, as limiting the labeling to chain/fast food joints may ultimately give the false impression that eating at an establishment that doesn’t have to follow the guidelines is always a healthier choice. I think many people would be surprised to find out that mid to high end meal at a nice place has entrees with fat and calorie contents that would make a Big Mac look like a Lite Dining[tm] option.
FUCK YOU FRIDAY’S! HAH!
That’s FU Fridaysâ„¢
@dgcaste: Why would you eat at a Fridays in NYC?
