A private student loan company agreed to change its ways after being sued by the NY AG for deceptive marketing practices. The company licensed school colors, logos, team names, and and designed its materials to look like the University itself was making the loans. [NYT]

It would be fraud if they said they were the school.
They merely designed their materials to look as though they were the school.
If I normally drive an old wagon but for a hot date I rent a Porsche then I am being deceptive; if I tell her it is mine then it is fraud.

Finally someone is standing up for students who have WAY TOO MUCH student loan debt to have to pay back.
