Today the FDA announced that a group of Chinese “health supplements” from Puerto Rican-based Shangai Distributor, Inc., contain undeclared sildenafil, the active drug in Viagra, and are therefore illegal. The supplements are named Super Shangai, Shangai Ultra, Shangai Ultra X, Lady Shangai, and (perhaps the best name of the product line) Strong Testis. Shangai Regular, also known as Shangai Chaojimengnan, was found to have “an unapproved substance with a structure similar to sildenafil that may cause similar side effects and drug interactions,” and is therefore also included on the warning list.
Because the supplements don’t list sildenafil as an ingredient, they may pose a danger to men who can’t take Viagra and instead are seeking “all natural” treatments for erectile dysfunction.

It’s so typical Chinese. They have tons of so-called all natural products/medication where the non-so-natural chemicals are the effective ingredient(s). These chemicals are usually not listed. So you eat at your own risk.
1) It’s from China; does it surprise anyone?
2) Viagra without a prescription… don’t tell my wife!
Do I hear the pitter-patter of Baby Boomer feet rushing for the drugstore?
hot damn, I want some of these !!
Just remember if you take these Chinese Viagra’s and your buddy is “awake” for more than 4 hrs you will need to stop by the ER. They will then insert a needle into the “vien” and drain some blood. If you want some “uppers” goto your dr. Don’t trust anything from China.
I knew there was some weird stuff being poured into products manufactured in China, but some herb out of the History of the Elves of MiddleEarth? That’s just going too far.
Better than them poaching tigers or slaughtering rhinos, I suppose…
I’m sorry how is this bad? Oh yeah the people who hold the patent on Viagra aren’t getting their royalties or their “cut” as under our gestapo Bush/Cheney administration that protects the pharmaceutical industry from the free market and hence lower profits. I know it’s not for safety reasons because I don’t remember hearing ANY news stories about people suffering ill effects from using any of the aforementioned supplements, go figure… Funny you don’t hear much in the news about lowering of prescription drug prices to compete with the same products from Canada or elsewhere, just stories about people suffering foreclosure on their mortgages with draconian interest rates and how the economy is doing poorly while the oil companies and associated businesses like Haliburton (Bush and Cheney’s friends) are incurring near record profits, and the assassination of a champion of the people over near Iraq just before an election, hmmm…
So where do you get this supplement?
@BobT: Oh yeah Bush is the cause of your limp dick. Have another bong hit brother.
So, would someone who bought these things find himself getting unexplainably horny at inappropriate times of the day?
@clevershark: When is in inappropriate to be horny?
@trollkiller: Trying the smartass comment again.

This is why free trade with little to no regulation is bad; it’s just too damn confusing.
Also, accidental boners like in high school.
