I guess you people didn’t ‘love it at levitz.’
Am I missing why this is important?
American Standard in Tiffin, Oh is closing their doors and 200 people are out of a job. You may know their product, look in your bathroom it is likely an American Standard toilet.
I guess what I am getting at is did Levitz do something horrendous or awesome and I can’t find the story?
Good riddance. Levitz sold me an extended warranty through Stainsafe when I bought my furniture. A year later, Levitz went through a bankruptcy re-org, and both Levitz & Stainsafe refused to honor my warranty when stains explicitly covered by the warranty ruined the sofa.
Stainsafe eventually offered to buy my warranty back… for $75. On a $500 loveseat.
Good riddance to Levitz. Now if we can just get Stainsafe out of business, the world would be a much better place.
@Josh Smith: Levitz has five stores and a warehouse in Washington State according to the Post-Intelligencer article, and just those six locations be laying off 100 folks. Spread that out over 76 stores, and that’s a lot more significant than 200 employees from American Standard, a company that’s still in business (under a different name).
let me guess–cheap, lead-tainted furniture imports from China?
And we don’t even make our own toilets anymore?? Who is undercutting our undercarriage waste elimination devices?
There is a Levitz near my house that is still in the same run-down shell of a warehouse that it was 50 years ago. Only now, the building is decrepit and their huge sign is broken beyond repair.
