Its so silly that changing credit cards can damage your credit rating.
My very first credit card ever has actually changed banks three times, but the entire history is still on my reports. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.
I think you can also switch types of cards completely as long as it stays with the same provider. Since all my cards seem to end back up with Chase and Citi anyway, this give you hundreds of choices.
I just did this with my oldest card, and since it’s Crapital One, I just know they messed it up.
