Recalled Toys Featured In Walmart's Holiday Catalog
One of the unintended consequences of so many toy recalls is that holiday catalogs, printed far in advance, are now full of recalled toys.
According to KHON news, Walmart's catalog contains two such toys, the "date rape" Aquadots and Fisher-Price's Laugh and Learn kitchen.
Walmart says, "Unfortunately, this book was printed and shipped prior to completion of the additional testing and the recalls of these two products." They also said they're putting up signs informing shoppers of the recalls, (in the hopes that they'll get fewer complaints from people who aren't aware that the toys had been recalled, we assume.)
Sounds like a lot of fun.
Attention, Walmart shoppers! This ad is for you! Woo hoo!

So Wally World wants us to believe that they TEST what they sell? HAHA.
What doesn't help is that photo. That little boy looks like he KNOWS that the dots are full of GHB, and he's just waiting for the girl to eat some.
They do test what they sell. They have a consumer research lab.
To be fair, it's not just Walmart. Target had Aqua Dots listed in their latest "wish book" mailer.

I bet you can still find these toys on the shelf (think back to the pet food recall and how incompetent Wal-Mart was at getting that off the shelf).

There's usually a 2 week lag time between getting the final film to the printer and the start of the in-home date.
@mopar_man: I seriously doubt it. Killing someone's dog is one thing, killing a kid is another. They're off the shelves, or Walmart is incredibly stupid.
By the way, what made someone think a toy made out of nothing but small beads would be a good toy for kids. Hello?
@crypticgeek: I know. When I was a kid, toys were all made out of Nerf and we demanded our stuff come from China.
I think the Aqua Dots were a straight-forward way of China letting us know that they are about to rape us.

Depends on what you're doing. In early August we released food cartons cobranded with WalMart Christmas promos. Right now we're releasing various SKUs that have Easter-related promos.
Why don't they just rain check the Aquadots with a bottle of roofies?
