"Draw Envious Looks," Carry Your Camera In A Sony TWA/T

20637 views

Keep your camera safe and snug in Sony's stylish new TWA/T. The soft leather carrying case is available in brown, black, and red - but not pink. Sony, please hire someone to manage your obscure naming conventions.

(Image via Sony Style. Thanks to Brian!)

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

Keep a camera in my Sony TWAT? That's a gaffe.

user-pic

i agree...it's only fair that they should offer the twa/t in pink AND brown AND black...someone at sony has some serious personal twa/t preferences, and has passed them down to the consumer!

user-pic

Oh man, I completely overlooked the naming until I read the comments...

user-pic

OMFG! Someone save me from the hilarity.

No pink, oh dear me.

user-pic

Now I know what to get my husband for Christmas! Thank you, Sony!

user-pic

Clearly, this was the responsibility of their new marketing division - the Sony Naming Affiliate for Total Consumer Happiness. Known internally as the SNATCH group.

user-pic

Looks like they fixed the name on the page. It's now the TWA/Brown.

user-pic

At one former place of employment I was required to work with an outside marketing agency that did some of our ad work for us. I was sent a packet of copy for a new promotion. It was full of obscure sexual references and double entendre. A co-worker and I pointed this out to management who they accused us of making it up to discredit the marketing agency. It went to print as submitted.

user-pic

@ExGC:
SNATCH....snorted my chablis over my keyboard on that one! Even the outer flaps have a different texture from the inner ones...

user-pic

What Sony is doing here is a very serious matter, probably even illegal. They should be investigated and have charges pressed against them. You and I would go to jail for this, but a big corporation like Phony will just get away with it.

You're not allowed to sell that for money, it violates vice laws. Obviously Sony think it's above the law.

user-pic

@Bay State Darren: Wait- what? Vice laws? I can legally blow my life savings on skullfucking porn online and offline and upline and wherever the hell else but I can't buy a camera case charmingly named TWA/T?

Can someone explain this?

user-pic

@humorbot: It was a joke.... IE prostitution as they where selling "TWA/T"

user-pic

@Falconfire: Ah yes. Only in Nevada. Thank you kindly.

user-pic

@Falconfire: Wow, that was a stretch. I had a tough time finding the joke in that until you pointed it out... Maybe I'm just naieve.

user-pic

I can only imagine the names they rejected!!!
My imagination runs wild.

user-pic

@Falconfire: Sounds like humorbot had a temporary malfucntion!

;-)

user-pic

They're branding TWA/Ts now? How much do they pay? I may or may not be interested in making some extra cash.

user-pic

@humorbot: I was trying to keep my language clean. I guess it would've been clearer to phrase it as "You're not allowed to sell twat for money, it violates vice laws."

My apologies to females reading this for even using that word.

user-pic

I say they are marketing gurus, I want one and I don't even own a Sony camera.

user-pic

I personally prefer the Sony CUN/T myself.

user-pic

They fixed the name on most of the page, but the original name still shows in the title bar. I can't wait to show this off to people while riding the South Lake Union Trolley!

user-pic

Dang, if your TWA/T resembles cowhide you're using it too much.

user-pic

Along the same lines, perhaps "humorbot" could get in trouble with Comsumerist mods for false advertising...

user-pic

let me get this right, sony wants us to put our expensive digital wares into their leathery twa/t?

user-pic

@ryan_h:

I guess they're getting tired of keeping all that blueray stuff up there, must be a nice change of pace.

user-pic

This kind of thing can only happen in Big Business.

user-pic

I can see how it would happen only because I didn't get it at first...I was about to write Ben and yell at him for pushing products on his blog...until I kept looking for a reason and it jumped out at me.

user-pic

@tedyc03: Oh ye of little faith. Actually I'm also guily because it took about 30 seconds for the name to sink in. Wanna bet these things sell like hotcakes? Sony has struck gold. GOLD I tell yah!

user-pic

shit if I buy this, it'll be the first poon I've gotten in years. :P

user-pic

I'll pass. If I'm going to pay for TWA/T, I don't want it to be leathery.

user-pic

Twat was that? I cunt hear you - I have an ear infucktion!

user-pic

I wonder if they make one from beaver pelt.

user-pic

"Trust me, lady - those looks you're getting are anything but envious..."

So I take it the T was for "Tan", since they changed it TWA/B(rown). Comedic gold!

user-pic

even if it's TWA/B, it's a dumb freakin name. Might was well call it the 3->

user-pic

Is it April Fool's Day already??

user-pic

rotfl Thanks guys for cracking me up with all your comments!

user-pic

I haven't seen Sony sell something this poorly named since the Sony Petafile, which was a peta-byte professional video server for Broadcast TV studios. Engrish strikes again!!!

user-pic

So because I love in Vegas it's still okay for be to buy the TWA/T, so long as it's not in town anyway...

user-pic

What's next? The sony SHI/T?

Sony
Technical
Imaging
Transporter

user-pic

@alk509: T was likely for "Taupe", as the Black one if the TWA/B. This is now the TWA/Brown, but WOW.

Pure. Comedy. Gold.

user-pic

It's made of Copper NanoTubes (think about it).

user-pic

If I get dust in my TWA/T, does it void the warranty?

user-pic

@superbureaucrat: Sony Technical Imaging Transporter abreviates to STIT, not SHIT. But if you reverse STIT, then you have a fun word!

user-pic

Reminds me of a restaurant, I think in Phoenix or Scottsdale, Arizona, called the
Pink Taco.
Some woman started a campaign to get them to change the name.
She must have had a dirty mind.

user-pic

There was an alleged movement (perhaps genuine, probably apocryphal) afoot to update the name of the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. The name "Castine University of Nautical Technology" was said to be popular among some of the seamen. The story/joke was amusing in a sophomoric kind of way, and no, the school didn't change its name.

user-pic

I've never seen so many fourth-graders posting this much at this time of night.

user-pic

@mmbb: Who put sand in your TWA/T? :P

user-pic

All jokes aside, that is a damned nice camera case.
