Didn't Win BOBs
Oh, by the way, we didn't win that Deutsche-Welle Best of The Blogs contest. We got third for our category. We probably could have finished stronger if I had done another post about voting for us, but I couldn't get excited about trying to beat a blog that was all about helping people in the deaf activist community. Come on everybody, let's beat the deaf people! Didn't sit right. Plus, the voting site got hacked. Oh well, there's always the Rhode Island blog awards... [The BOBS]

I don't know, there are certain groups within the deaf community whose stances and past actions I strongly disagree with. I haven't visited the site mentioned in the post, but if they were in any way connected to these people, I (and many others) would have had no qualms voting against them.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about deaf people in general, but I think it's safe to say that every "community" has its outspoken extremists.
Rhode Island.... Whut?
We're just not as tight nit as those deaf communities. And our two biggest weapons, Television and radio, simply don't work effectively against them.
How do you "/snark" in sign?
We need to keep an eye out for blogs that support orphans, abandoned kittens or starving puppies. Or orphaned, abandoned, hungry kittens.
Then d-e-v-o-u-r them. Mercilessly.
