@swalve: so how is it that our former governor (john g. rowland) was indicted in a similar situation? the cops loved him.
oh, that's right, it was a federal investigation! even with his long arms & deep pockets, he couldn't reach those damn tight-asses at the doj.
imho, the punishment for abusing a public office for personal gain should be a life sentence. & none of that cake-walk sleep all day supermax b.s. i'm talking 16-hr/day chain gang-type prison with bosses that carry shotguns & make you dig holes & fill them back in for a week when they catch you smiling once.
@trai_dep: I'd like to emphasize this point. Any schmuck in any poli sci department can nominate you for the peace prize. It's not even remotely prestigious.
@trai_dep: what is the price of a nobel prize nomination (in terms of government contracts, of course)?
@swalve: Alternatively, some old bastard who was so crooked that he had to screw his pants on in the morning found a social cause that he shamelessly pimped in an attempt to avoid jail time.

Wait, so you're saying there's no Nobel Prize for Racketeering? I've wasted my life!
