I’ve been looking for a good deal on an external USB drive, but the reviews for Seagate do not fill me with confidence. It sounds like the drives are relatively unreliable, so it’s not such a good deal after all…
I should have mentioned I was looking at reviews on Epinions and Amazon.
@kamikasee: I disagree, I have the Free Agent drive listed above and I love it. Not only is it very stylish, it’s also one of the few external drives I’ve had that hasn’t quit on me. It’s also has a fast transfer rate (which is great if you use it to store music or movies on.) And at 20 cents a GB, you probably won’t find a better drive, cheaper.
@kamikasee:, @Asvetic: Perhaps the biggest knock on that drive is I CAN’T BUY THE DAMN THING. They list ‘em all as out of stock. Even though I’m buying online, having it delivered… once I punch in the ZIP code, none available. In the words of a great and decent man, funk dat.
I think I’ll stick with my traditional Western Digital drives. I’ve never had a problem with them. Seagate have never been recommended to me.
