Verizon's Plan To Share Your Call Data Generates Blog Scrutiny
Just a little over a month ago, we alerted Verizon Wireless users to an opportunity to opt-out of Verizion sharing some of your information with unnamed third parties. Specifically, the information is subscriber's CPNI, which consists of what numbers you call, what numbers call you, and how much the call costs. It is not linked to your name, number, or address.
Now, Ars Technica, RCR Wireless, and the Skydeck blog are voicing concerns about the potential privacy questions. Skydeck has a scan of the notice up. The number to opt-out is 1-800-333-9956.

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

I called in last night to opt-out, and I was asked for my mobile number, billing ZIP code, and the last 4 digits of my SSN. I thought that was overkill, as if someone impersonating me would call in to keep my information from being shared.
