    "Free after rebate." Why do you still bother with this crap?

    @speedwell: Some people know how to use rebates and even like them.

    Inconceivable! (stalks off in a royal huff and visits Magic Coffee Land)

    @speedwell:

    Oooh... please tell me more about this Magic Coffee Land of which you speak...

    user-pic

    One morning as the sun came up and the working day was dawning
    Down the hall came a help desk flunky and he said Zog damn, I'm yawning
    I'm heading to a land that's down the hall beside the payroll office
    So come with me, we'll go and see the magic land of coffees.

    In the Magic Land of Coffee there's a place that's clean and bright
    Where all it takes is a few deep breaths to recover from last night
    Where the coffee pods are doubled and the sugar is organic
    And the secretary keeps a bottle of the antidote for panic
    Where the logo mugs play in the cupboards all day
    In the Magic Land of Coffee.

    Having been general counsel to one of the biggest rebate-driven companies out there (emphasis on *past tense*), I'm very sensitive to the ups and downs of the rebate process. That said, I'm quite comfortable doing mail-in rebates, and particularly enjoy online rebate submissions such as those offered by Staples and (apparently) Rite-Aid. Given that the local Eckerd just switched to being a Rite-Aid, I'm in for a power strip, an extension cord and some toothbrushes on this one. {ProfJonathan}

    I've used Rite-Aid's rebate system in the past and been very happy with it. It's a totally online process where they use a code on your register receipt to verify your purchase so you don't have to mail in UPCs. IOW - Papa's getting a new powerstrip today!

    Also my wife swears by those Sea-Band accupressure wristbands, they don't work as well as scopalimine patch, but don't walk along in a antihistimine-induced fog for three days either.

    Lastly, a quick warning for anyone looking at the 42" Philips TV, the native resolution of the screen is 1024x768, so while it claims to support 1080i at best it can only display an interpolated 1080i at an actual resolution of 1024i.
