FlyJumper Ad Promises To Make You Awesome, Then Rich, Then Dead
In the U.S. they're called PoweriZers, but in the U.K. those springy pogo-boot things are called FlyJumpers, and the company that sells them has come up with a bizarre ad that appeals to... materialistic and amoral fame-seekers who are suicidal, we guess? The commercial—which is available on the Amazon.co.uk product info page—shows a bank robber making an amazing escape on his FlyJumpers, and getting away with thousands of pound notes. Then, inexplicably, it turns into a scene from "Final Destination."
(We're not kidding—it gets Itchy & Scratchy violent without warning at the end.)

dood That commercial rawks. its not like they could let the bank robber get away with the money.
British humor is strange. They find weird things funny, like men dressing up like women, and overly extreme violence. I don't get it.
At the ad agency:
Ad guy: "...Then the guy runs into the 12-story flat and through the corridor in extreme comfort, past murals depicting Mediterranean scenes, towards the rotating knives. The blood pours down these chutes and the mangled flesh slurps into these..."
Corporate droid: "Do I take it that you are proposing to slaughter our customers?"
Ad guy: "Does that not fit in with your plans?"
Corporate droid: "But we asked for a simple 30-second TV commercial."
No, American humor would be "men putting on fat suits and dressing as women"
I didn't know ceiling fans had so much strength to them. Maybe I'm just buying the wrong model.
Wow, I can't think of an easier way to set myself up with a broken arm or cracked skull than a set of these. I'll pass...but then I'm not a 15 year-old skate rat.
This commercial is nothing to lose your head over.

BWAHAHAHAHA, I bet a commercial like this would never make it into the states.
So basically this guy is running from the cops and every time he does some stunt, the cops are usually a couple steps behind him....

@cde: Which is exactly why this commercial only works in the U.K. In the U.S., it would have ended after 10 seconds with an equally final destruction ending, and a cop holding a smoking pistol.
I really, really want a pair of those pogo-stilts.
I think the message here is simply "Don't go jumping into your ceiling fan."

@humphrmi: Well, most banks even in the UK have either cops with guns or private security with guns. And most of the non-streetwalker UK SWAT cops have big scary guns that make NYC SWAT Cop machine guns look like toys.
