It was perhaps a month ago I was watching Fox News, and they were tying to spin the housing market as actually a great opportunity. It had a woman on, who was snapping up properties left and right, taking advantage of the many 'deals' around her.
Best wishes to those who take the great Fox News advice of buying into a falling housing market. A market that still has quite a ways yet to fall.
I haven't seen Fox Business yet, but I wonder if they're going to have the same conflict of providing good business/investing advice, versus spinning a Republican financial fairy tale.
Kinda going off topic here, but how is the current market not great for people who are able to 'snap up properties left and right'?
All kinds of people are looking to unload properties saddled with awful mortgages. As you say, falling - prices are low and getting lower.
The fact that those kinds of people only represent maybe 3% of the population, if that, shouldn't cast doubt on the current market being 'great'.
It's great for people who own multiple-family dwellings, like big apartment buildings! It's great for rental agencies!
Nevermind that most of our financial institutions are announcing billion dollar writeoffs... Move along, nothing to see here. Consume consume consume and all will be well, peasants.
