I want to dress my dog up as a cat and my cat as a dog.

@TechnoDestructo: Perv. The republicans will come and get you for that. ;)

I'm going to dress up my dog as Ron Paul so the people on Digg will worship him.

why the hell is this on consumerist? if these costumes had lead in them then sure, post away... no one likes a retarded dachshund dressed up as a cat.

@TechnoDestructo: or you could tie them together and they could be CatDog

I never put on costumes to my little shih tzu. In my opinion, I think it is ridiculous. I probably will see a couple of my friend's dogs with some "princess or Dracula" costumes.

I'm actually surprised this statistic isn't higher.

I think this qualifies as "Stupid Consumer" -- i.e., stop buying shit.

Reason #356 cats superior to dogs: any cat owner even briefly considers the idea will pull away bloodied, nerve-jangling stumps of what used to be hands.

@amoeba: Shih tzus are toy dogs. From China. Just paint it lead colored and you'll have the scariest dog on the block.

@amoeba: Putting a costume on a shih tzu might actually be considered redundant.

I bought a dog costume for my baby. Not a cotume to dress him as a dog - a costume made for a dog. He's barely 3 weeks old and it's the only thing we could find small enough. Plus it cost $10 and all the baby costumes were $50. My baby will be a cute little (doggy) devil.

i think this might border animal cruelty.......how did you feel when your mother dressed you up before school in suspenders and goofy looking pants? or in winter with 20 layers of clothing and you were unable to bend your arms and legs?

there is nothing wrong with dressing a dog up. i have a little dog that we put a sweater on in the winter because it would otherwise freeze.

@TechnoDestructo: That has sooo been done.
