Find out when your local Tarjet gets deliveries into the electronics dept (its usually tues night and sat night, at least around here). Get there wed morning and sunday morning, and just repeat until they show up.
Last sunday at around 11am, the local Napa Target had 3 sitting in stock on the shelf.
That means Wednesday is tomorrow (if I remember my schoolin' correctly).
Our Costco. almost always has them in stock when I go there.
I found my Wii at a Gamestop in a shady neighborhood where most folks would not shop. Dorchester neighborhood in Boston. They've always got Wiis. And hey, even the shady neighborhoods aren't that bad when it's light out.
@nweaver: Yup. That's how I've gotten both of my Wiis. Unable to sleep on a Sunday morning, so I went into Target to get something to help with a project (clothes hangars the first time, storage bins the second time), and hey, they've got a Wii or two left.
Never seen them in stock anywhere else, and before I got my first Wii (in February), I'd been trying for a while.
(The second Wii is a birthday present for my sister, so I'm not a dirty, dirty reseller)

I took the lazy man's method: A friend found one at a local Gamestop and I showed up an hour later and nabbed the last one.
Is the Wii shortage still a story in the US? Here in Toronto, during the past two months or so, I've seen Wiis in most big games/electronics stores I walked into (EB Games, Best Buy, Futureshop, etc.).
I didn't realize that these were still hard to get.
I'm wondering if I should sit with my finger constantly hitting refresh for a wii - man, my fiancee would love me if i got him one as a surprise.

Wii's aren't hard to find. People just think that the news from 9 months ago is still the news today. People also say that the PS3 has no games out, but there are plenty.

Depends where you're located. Still haven't seen an actual Wii on the shelves of any store in Florida yet. There's a blank space for them at some retailers while others don't even bother to make the space for a product which won't ever make it to the shelf.

Look on Ebay and you'll still see them going for at least $50 more than retail and then most people are getting hosed $30+ for standard USPS shipping.
I have to agree. It does depend where you live. I went to 8 different places in northern Wisconsin this weekend and only found one.

This was a great tip! I logged onto Amazon at 12 noon Central time and they had been added to the site (I had looked less than 30 minutes earlier). Less than $9 shipping too. Thank you. (It has been about an hour and they still have some, if you are looking.)
Do you really mean PST/EST, as in Standard Time? Because most people are still under daylight saving time and don't move to standard time until this weekend.
