Verizon FiOs Install Results In Gas Line Breach
One Verizon FiOs install results in breached sewer pipe. Another, a breached gas line. There was no explosion, or even smoke. Some unpleasantly scented puffs of air, though. Guess they're getting better. What do you expect to happen when you have guys drilling through stuff? Accidents, that's what. Unfortunate and statistically insignificant accidents. It all comes out in the wash. Like blood. Blood comes out in the wash, right? Still, it's almost like some of these guys have no idea what they're doing. "It's true QAM." Yes, we have true qualms.

Verizon is scary company. The more I hear about it the more thankful I am no where near an area that is serviced by Verizon. I'm with Shaw and although they are not great, they haven't any accidents like that.
I agree, it is true QAM. By the way: what's QAM? [And, most likely, where in the article did I miss it 'cause I was skimming?]
The picture is of the same van shown in today's earlier Verizon post. Strangest thing is that the photographers are different.

Any electricians, contractors, etc. in the audience know of any standard procedures or certifications regarding poking holes in walls? I'm thinking the Verizon installers need a few of those, especially considering there won't be many houses built for a while.
Is that a picture of the actuall van? I thought it said there was no explosion...
