IKEA Furniture Hacks
Here are some of favorite ways to convert cheap Swedish furniture into other kinds of cheap furniture, via the IKEA hacker blog.
• AKURUM kitchen wall cabinets into a sideboard.

Leksvik hutch...Good for perching on and knocking off vintage teacups.
Lingo box with lids...good for ripping the tops off of and getting into.
Lingo magazine file...Good for pulling catalogs out of.
Yep, it's all kitty furniture and playthings. Why I bothered to buy the Bastis cat tent, I'll never know. They much prefer to camp out on and in the Ikea stuff that's suppose to be MINE.
Cats do not want "minimalist" furniture. They believe they deserve ultra-high-end luxury furniture (on which they will poop and sharpen their claws).
Pooping? CATS? Never. They're not (shudder) dogs!
That said, shredding furniture is both their birthright and point of pride for the lil' beasts. Take that away and your shins begin to look *really* tempting... Your call, cat's perogative.
I think any Ikea product can be converted to "minimalist cat furniture."
