    #1 and #10 are the same thing, and both only work if you have a supply of ice external to the area you are cooling. If you take ice from your own fridge you will have make more, which will pump the excess heat in water when freezing into the house you are trying to cool.

    FYI, you can now get a window AC unit for as little as $75 on sale. Of course, it cost more to operate than a fan, but not more than a fan and a dedicated ice maker.
