Eww a USB 1.1 webcam? I'll pass.

Funny.. the Zune was excoriated as one of the most consumer-unfriendly devices ever made but given the number of times consumerist posts deals on it, you'd think they're getting a cut.

1.1 is less than 2.0, which means it must be "so 2003," right? What's the difference, as long as it works?

Beware Tiger Direct!

I bought an allegedly new, allegedly unlocked phone for someone through TD a while back, and it arrived late, locked, and used. AND when I emailed them about it, they responded with what was obviously a form letter. Why would they even have a form letter making excuses for falsely advertising used, locked phones as new and unlocked? And when I looked at my live order history page, they'd changed the warranty info, too.

Tiger Direct is just shady as hell.

@spanky: Hope you didn't waste any time in having your credit card company issue a chargeback.

@spanky: I've been saying that about Tiger Direct forever. They are an extraordinarily shady business and I'd love to see Consumerist never post another of their alleged "deals" again.

@BillyShears: Had I ordered the phone for myself, I would have returned it and done a chargeback, but the person I got it for needed it right away, so we just unlocked the phone and shook our fists impotently.

@pestie: Yeah. That was the first time in years I'd used them. I knew better, but I am lazy and stupid sometimes.

I'd be pretty happy to see Tiger Direct's evil little gadget raffles banished from Morning Deals, too.
